first off, why are you looking for non- w5m33/cp5h boxes? Also, do you know the final drive ratio of the car you're putting it into?

Hence an evo ecu not being plug and play...

I've found the easiest way to do it is with the ECMLink. Have a look at their site: http://www.ecmtuning.com/ and try find a chippable vr4 ecu. It'll most likely be much less hassle in the end, especially if you want to mod and tune the car...

Not sure how much an Evo 1-3 ecu would be, but I assume they wouldn't be that cheap...also, you dont need that plug, you can simply just rewire the original with a magna airflow meter (055 MAF) and the magna plug, it just requires switching a few wires. Check http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html...
