OEM CD5A and CE9A spring specifications

Hey Guys, I'm trying to find the specs of the OEM springs for both Lancer GSR 1.8 (CD5A) and for Evo I, II & III (CD9A/CE9A). In other words the rate (kg/mm, etc.) plus the length/height. CAPS/ASA suggests that there is different part numbers for all variants, depending on when it was built...

kg/mm springs and shocks for CD9A/CE9A

Hey Fella's - I have some early Evo springs and shocks for sale: Item: kg/mm Springs and shocks for CD9A/CE9A - Evo 1, 2, 3. Item Condition: Used. Shocks aren’t leaking, but have seen plenty of use. Price: $300 - negotiable. Extra Info: Springs look very low to me, but haven't seen them on a...

    Handbrake button replacement

Yes, tackling the big issues today... Does anyone know how to remove the handbrake button? There's no part number for it, so I'm assuming it wasn't designed to be removed easily, or at all. I'm looking at replacing it without having to buy a whole new lever.

    Evo1-3 foglights?

Well, the big PIAA foggies were definitely a dealer option. For example, they aren't in CAPS/ASA (unless you have the accessories part of ASA - I don't - Mitsu may do). The smaller foggies were made by Cibie and were likely to be part of an options pack when you ordered the car. These are the...

    Evo1-3 foglights?

The big fog lamps that were dealer options are PIAA and can still be purchased, even with the white plastic covers and replacement lenses (PIAA 510 Series I think). However, the factory option had a special bracket riveted to the back of the light cover to suit the OEM support bracket. I have...

Evo II in Youi tv ad

Just watching Beverley Hills Cop after a few drinks tonight and what do I see, a mint white Evo II on the Youi Insurance advertisement!! Vic plates and everything... Could barely believe my eyes till I rewound it a couple of times.

    Evo 1 dash removal ?

Hey DSM2Evo, The funny smell you mentioned coming from the car will be your air conditioning evaporator with crap stuck to the front of it, which you've probably found out by now Mine was the same and had to change it out for a new one. Painful.

Nice work, grab yourself a beer...I've always wondered how to get the dash out. Now I know you just undo 675 screws and bolts and wiggle it out

    15 inch Tyres

Why don't you have a look at 205/55/15? May be easier on your spinal column too :) I run 205/60/15...but they look pretty pedestrian.

How to program your EVO 3 remote entry setup.

The Evo 2 has the same setup for remote central locking. I have seen an Evo 1 with the remote integrated into actual key, so they must have had something there. Nice write up fella's - was looking for this info for ages!

    Door seals?

I'm looking at the same thing...the Wira ones will fit and they are very cheap - if you can get them out of Malaysia without paying too much freight. Failing that, off to Proton in Oz. I'll let you know if I end up getting any from Malaysia.

    Setting car up...Lift off oversteer

My 2 Cents! You're going to get lift off oversteer to a degree no matter what you do. Just be easy on the controls to minimise it.... My thoughts are that a little lift off oversteer is the probably the easiest way of getting a car, like an Evo, that generally wants to understeer at corner...

Modifying &/or Rebuilding Viscous Coupling Unit

Ah, OK...thanks Dougmo. Why only gravel for the Ralliart VCU? My assumption is that it would send more drive to the rear wheels when pushed? Or would this make it far too tail happy?

Modifying &/or Rebuilding Viscous Coupling Unit

G'day all, Does anyone have any experience in modifying or rebuilding VCU's? Can it be done, and if so, what is the process? For example, is there a way to "tighten" up the standard VCU in the centre diff to be more like a Ralliart item, etc.? Here's a pic inside one: Cheers, Chris
