Leakdown test results on my 4G93T

I did a leakdown test on my 4G93T this week and I think the results mean it's rebuild time. Cylinder 1,3,4 have about 15>25% leakage. But Cylinder 2 has 40% leakage according to a cheap leakdown tester. The tester says 0>40% = high and 40>60 = moderate. The leakage shouldn't be more then...

4G93T Flywheel bolts compared to 4G63T

Just as a update, it works ;) So it is indeed possible to get a evo flywheel on a 4G93T. I do notice some difference, but the end result is not as drastic as I thought. It idles the same, does climb in rpm a little faster. The only down side I noticed is the clutch has some juddering when...

    I had them custom made.

    They fit wonderfully ;)

4G93T Flywheel bolts compared to 4G63T

I'm pretty sure whatever solution I will end up with the flywheel won't be going anywhere :P Next week I will contact some metal related workshops. The problem I think is that they can't work with raw hardend material. I think bolts like these are made and hardened afterwards through some heat...

4G93T Flywheel bolts compared to 4G63T

It turns out my flywheel bolts will have to be about 35mm long. That includes some extra thread since the thread inside the crank is deep enough. If you could find bolts that are longer be me guest ;) First of all I had to remove the gearbox due to clutch problems so I thought I might as...

4G93T Flywheel bolts compared to 4G63T

I measured the 4G93T flywheel bolts they are M11X1.0 . That's an impossible to find size. ARP makes them for Ford 2.0L Zetec engines, but they are even shorter then the stock GSR bolts. The only problem a 2ltr flywheel doesn't fit the 4G93T crank is a recess. I got a adapter plate for that, so...

4G93T Flywheel bolts compared to 4G63T

I'm in the process of running a lightweight evo flywheel in my 4G93T powered Colt. Now I'm using a Eclipse GS-T gearbox that works okay. I got a Fidanza aluminum flywheel I want to use. I got a adapter on the way to fit the spacing on the back. Everything fits, just 1 problem. The flywheel...

    Clutch not fully disengaging

Revised the master brake cylinder, but it didn't help. It did help de pedal feel a bit though. Last night I removed the gearbox. To find this: A piece of the throw out bearing has broken off, luckily it was still attached to the circlip. So there's my problem.

    Clutch not fully disengaging

Thanks guys, I will check the clutch fork through the clutch slave hole in the gearbox, and will get the master cillinders revised. And if I have to I will remove the gearbox to inspect the clutch disc itself.

    Clutch not fully disengaging

The clutch in my colt (F5M33 (eclipse gs-t 2nd gen) has always been rather harsh to handle, so I thought to myself let's get a revision kit for the slave cylinder. I replaced the piston and the rubber gasket and put it on the car again. After bleeding the clutch it will initially be okay, but...

    [4G93T] TD05 idle issues

I didn't change the stepper motor, so it would be a coincident if it was faulty. Fiav is that the thing on the bottom of the throttle body that has a water supply running to it to make the engine increase RPM when it's still cold? I was already running this throttle body on the TD04 setup in...

    [4G93T] TD05 idle issues

I have a 4G93T engine in my Mitsubishi Colt car. Now I've changed the stock turbo for a E3 TD05 with custom oil-line, evo injectors, evo AFM. (Already had a EVO TB) I also run a evo 2 ecu. I also did a cam belt job in the meantime. Now above 1400 rpm or so the car runs smooth, it also flies...

who wants to upgrade their ecmlite{e123/gsr} to the full version

I'm planning on buying a ECMTuning package for my Evo ECU soon as well. I would also like to obtain the full feature set that is offered in the FULL version :)

    intercooler for 1.8ltr gsr ???

Just get a evo throttle body to replace your stock unit and grind the inlet manifold accordingly. It will flow a bit better, I did the same on my 4G93T :)

    Overboosting Problem On GSR

In my case it happend after using not exhaust after the dump-pipe whatsoever. But I've read on 4G93t.net that it was a common issue, I might be mistaken ofcourse.

    Overboosting Problem On GSR

It's quite common though. I've heard it happend to most people with 4G93T engines. Maybe you have a restrictive cat or some other reason why boostcreep won't appear.

    Overboosting Problem On GSR

The 3" exhaust is where to problem begun with. The internal wastegate of the TD04 doesn't flow much and the reduced backpressure makes exhaust gasses flow through the turbine wheel instead of the wastegate. Either port the wastegate or get an external one. I've had the same thing happen to my...
