Checked it out today. found the relay, and probed it with my test light. with the ignition on start, if i earthed pin 8 "red and white thin wire" it would energise the coil and send power to the fuel pump. So i'm guessing the ecu is not switching that wire to earth. Cheated the system and...

Interesting thread. My evo 1 is intermitttantly running. Only get to run it for a week, twice a year. Last time i went home this problem occurred. Sometimes will start and run, but will appear to splutter and stall. I'm guessing this is due to the fuel pump losing its power source from this...
