hi guys she is up and running again i got a replacement crank angle sensor off ali express including delivery it cost around £10.00 so i was well pleased collecting the car back from the garage this weekend with full mot ready for the road . steve.

thanks for the info lads but this seems to get more complicated the more you find out think the best idea is to get the old one off and try to match it up to a new one. mitsubishi want to releave me of a mear £600.00 for a genuine new one.

Hi lads can any one help i need a new crank sensor for my HSGR can't find one for the evo 3 dose any one know if they are the same as the evo 4-5-6 as these are easy to get hold of. Thanks in advance for any info steve.

Checked all fuses and fusible links next thing on list is the ecu. Leaving crank sensor till last as it sounds the most difficult job.

Thanks for the information it sounds like I have a hell of a job in front of me x2 will attempt to have a go soon but afraid the weather here is not quite as reliable as yours. I will keep you posted on the progress thanks again for the info Steve.

Where is the crack sensor located is it on the pulley or the flywheel. All the parts being used to replace the old ones are being taken directly from my second hsgr so I know they are good and wiring should be same

How is a wet or dry compression test going to get me a spark again I will say it there is no spark the timing belt is fine the compression is fine just no spark.

Hi in my hsgr driving down the road and the power just died it would appear to have no spark I have changed the amplifier, coil pack, and cam sensor all to no avail. any one know if there is any other sensors that may be at fault.? Thanks in advance for any advice Steve.

Hi guys just brought a set of secondhand cusco coil overs and padders lowering springs to put on my hsgr my question is how do you remove the rear springs I just cannot get a set of spring compressors in the only way I can see is to drop the entire trailing arm is this the way it's normally done...

good luck with that i honestly dont see how you can possibly get those under the arches and clear the rear shocks the stock rear shocks for the rvr are KYB MR333572 as of yet im not sure about the springs.

Hi can any of you guy or gals tell me what size rims you are running on your lowered hsgr;s i have 17" alround 8" on the front and 9" on the rear and if the back end drops down by more than about 40mm the rims start to rub the shocks are my rears to wide to drop the suspension if so what size do...

Hi Beastlee yes mine is black the figures where obtained from the link further up this page this will give total registered with dvla then check by year and it should come up as a total of three registered between 97-98 mine is the one regitered in 98. i do know of another hsg but it is the z...

it would apear i was a little premature with those figures only two registered in 97 and one in 98 so a max with the posability of being rvr hsg-r is three and i bet all are black seems that all the white ones stayed with you guys and gals in Australia.

Thank you for the information i may try contacting mitsubishi direct and see what responce i get from them as for the uk it would apear there is only seventeen and three of those are currently off the road so it is indeed a rare beest in the uk many thanks steve
