am cleaning out my man cave after selling my Starion and have a starter motor and alternator for sale at $90.00 each plus post or pick up in Brisbane Also have a set of stock Gallant GSR cams so make an offer for anything or they are off to the tip in a couple of weeks

Have already done it down a long hill in 3rd no blue smoke that I could see. Had it on a dyno last week for an AFR check and it is "quite rich in some areas of the map especially WOT" so the new owner can follow it up if he wants.

Have had the car on a dyno for a gas analysis and it is quite rich in some areas especially @ wot so the tune will need a tweak to reduce the blackish smoke. Mechanic said to let it idle for 10 minutes then rev it to test the stem seals and only black/grey smoke came out.

My 2323cc TC stroker that has 8.5 cr pistons has the following COLD and HOT psi readings on all cylinders of 180 psi give oR take 3 psi. Is this a good result as unfortunately I never thought to test them after it was built.?

I have been told that the valve stem seals may be contributing to the smoke and that they should be replaced before pulling the motor so is there someone or a workshop in the Brisbane area that can replace them for me?

Hi Taz what would be the app cost drive in drive out allowing for the head and mani gaskets plus the timing belts that I already have ??

Thanks JBN But I don't get enough wheel time to get muych closer to the well driven S15 of Trent Lavers but managed to pip 2 drivers in another S15 so got to be happy with that.

Sorry I should have said Twin Cam motor as it is quite smoky and needs a freshen up so it needs to come out.

Was cold and windy but managed to get 2nd in class in spite of the motor blowing smoke as it defiantly needs a freshen up as cylinders 1 & 4 plugs are black and oily.

I have had to replace them with a lower hat due to the roll centre adjusters moving the discs too close to the ball joint. They have not been machined as they have been on the Starion for less than 3k $200 + post NOTE they have been redrilled to suit 4 stud so can fit both 4 & 5 stud hubs...

The 4.22 diff fitted by DANTRANS certainly makes the car feel a bit more lively. :thumbsup:

Just got the car back with the 4.22 diff and it may be only in my mind but it does feel a bit more frisky on my usual weekly lap around the block. .
