Just in case that you haven't read my other post re diff a MK Triton internal parts will fit a STARION with a BIG diff :)

DANTRANS has confirmed that the recoed diff is ready to be fitted :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Have entered both events and entries are still open if you have forgotten about them.

My darling wife usually says when I arrive home with a 3rd place trophy "was there only 3 in the class?" :rolleyes: FWIW I enter events nowadays for my personal enjoyment and to help delay getting old and doddery not trophies. Placings are few and far between but still nice to get.

It certainly was the pinion as it only has less than half of the teeth left . I think that I have found a replacement 4.22 ratio that will fit and the big diff has been stripped and the 4.22 has been measured and am told that "it should fit" as the shaft is the right length with matching splines.

Have picked up a 4.222 MK Triton diff for a test fit of the internal parts and DANTRANS has done some preliminary checks and thinks that they "should fit" so fingers crossed as that will be good first hand info for other Starion enthusiasts/diehards.

Diff is out and the pinion shaft has only 1/2 of the teeth left so the hunt is on for a replacement most likely a 4.222.

Trailered the car to DANTRANS today so will know early in the week what is needed .Going by the sound Dan thinks it may be the pinion. Time will tell. :unsure:

Well I rocked up to the IWMAC dirt sprints to man my usual flag point only to be told by a few people who were at the Oakey Sptints presentation Sunday arvo that I had won 3rd in class and there is a trophy for me so will contact the organizers to have them post it. I guess that will lessen the...

Have had a call from Rob and he is unable to help. Have also called John Whittaker who used to race a Starion as well and no luck to date.

I almost certainly will need a crown wheel and matching pinion to suit any ratio between 3.5 and 4.2 and am told that I have an 8 inch diff. I will PM my contact details in case you need further info.

I already emailed them and waiting for a reply. Rob Chapman is the only tuner I trust with my Starion

Forgot to say that the car has Qld Transport blue plates ( engineered) for all the mods and is road legal EXCEPT for the atmo blow off valve that can easily be changed if needed.

Hi Derek you may well be right but the car needs a younger faster driver to bring out the best in it and as I will be 4 score years old soon maybe I should get something a bit slower?? :)
