I've now put the story there as well. Hopefully there are some people who can help me with my questions.

Replacing headlight globes- is there an easy way?

Ah yeah, you need the headlight unit to be removed completely. If I understand correct. I now do understand what you mean. I guess thats the downside of the HSG front bar. No separate grille like the SG and SSG where the inner headlight bolt are behind. I haven't had it apart yet myself...

Replacing headlight globes- is there an easy way?

What do you need to know? In the starting post you mention the side indicators next to the headlight (I think you mean the cornering light/parking light with that) and the headlight globe itself? The headlight globe itself should be pretty straight forward. Like previously said. The cornering...

    Project C78A

Perhaps some people might have read in my introduction post or my signature, that besides the RVR I also have a C50 model Colt and Lancer. My project's about my 4WD Lancer C77A. That I have a couple of years by now and have driven about 17k km's with. But unfortunately not with numerous...

    Will they fit??

What Dougmo said. Don't run different tyre sizes on a 4WD. It'll ruin your transfergear or rear differential. Stock offset of the RVR is +46. It's recommended not to deviate too much from that. But wheels with 46 offset are hard to find. Many therefore go with evo wheels that are 38 offset...

    oil cooler size?

I still didn't read the reason why you want to add an oil cooler to your 1.5 12v. If you keep it stock for the rest I only think it will reduce reliability due to oil that doesn't reach the right temperature. So if you keep it stock just save you the money and let it go.

    oil cooler size?

The 4G37 needs 4 litres of oil. The 4G15 needs 3 or 3,5 litres i'm not sure at this moment. But those are 2 completely different engines. The 4G15 is an Orion sereis engine and the 4G37 is a Saturn series engine. I don't think the oil cooler holds 1 litre of oil. I honestly can not tell...

    oil cooler size?

I have also a 1.5 12v Colt myself. The 1.5 12v didn't come with an oil cooler. Therefore I don't think you'll need an oil cooler if you're running it stock. You don't want to cool your oil too much. It has to be in balance. They'll have thought of that when they designed the engine setup...

    oil cooler size?

What are you planning to do? What are you running. The 4G61 didn't come with an oil cooler. Here in Europe the C77A 1.8 8valve and C58A/C68A 1.8 16valve did come with an oil cooler as standard. Both the 4G37 and 4G67 engine's used the same oil cooler in the Colt/Lancer. I figure the stock size...

Modifications needed when removing speed limiter?

Thanks! Jack of all. I'll try that out. I live close to the German border with a stretch of autobahn that has no speed limit. I could only find how-to's for EVO 1-3. But wasn't sure because the RVR HSGR was built a bit later in '97. I'll let you know when I have the RVR on the road.

Modifications needed when removing speed limiter?

Thanks p055um5! How did you remove your top speed limiter? By chip or by removing a wire behind the instrument cluster? You've done a lot to your HSG as I read in your sig. Mine's still completely stock. Exept for the Evo7 wheels. I also have the original wheels with snow tires. And recently...

Modifications needed when removing speed limiter?

I understood from the previous owner that they have had the limiter removed in the past. But put it back on to keep it stock. He said something about the instrument panel. But what they did exactly he didn't say. @JayRome What do you mean with my ISC may not work. I figure you mean the Idle...

My RVR HSG has to go...

Sad to hear that the RVR has to go. :( Hope it finds a new owner in a Mitsubishi enthusiast that will take good care for it. It's a black beauty.

Modifications needed when removing speed limiter?

Hello to all, I'm thinking of removing the speed limiter of my manual RVR HSG-R. I tried the search function but couldn't find anything yet. Or does it work the same as at the EVO's with the RSW screw on the back of the instrument cluster? Are there any other modifications needed when removing...

RVR Super sports gear vs Hyper sports gear

Now I've heard the noise. Momentarily I have the same with my C77A Lancer 4WD 4G37. Lost speed on the highway. Put it on the hard shoulder. Same noise as you have. When I changed the ignition timing the noise reduced and I calmly drove home. At home I checked my cambelt timing and compression...

RVR Super sports gear vs Hyper sports gear

There is a Hyper Sports Gear R and a Hyper Sports Gear Z. The Z version is less powerful than the R version. But looks the same as the R. Same front bar, skirts and spoilers. The colour you describe matches one of the 3 colours the HSG R and Z came in. Shoot me if i'm wrong. What CLuTZ says...

    CAPS Parts Program *FREE*

To run it on Win7 64bit you'll have to the 64bit registry file instead of the MMC.reg Otherwise you'll get a password incorrect error or something like it when you start the program. I've got 4 regions for ASA. Europe, Japan, America and General (?). The 1.4.4.0 version of ASA. I can send the...

    CAPS Parts Program *FREE*

Sorry to bring up this old thread. I read that people have problems with Win7 and Caps/ASA. I have the complete ASA (all regions) working on Win7. And made installation instructions for it. If anyone is interested throw me a PM. I don't know how to host such a large file. Cheers

    curious newbie

I placed some pictures of the RVR and my other Mitsubishi's in my introduction topic. My RVR HSGR is a manual. What are your's? Manual or auto? It still is completely stock except for the Evo7 wheels. I also have the stock alloy's with snow tires on them. It still has the 180 km/h limiter on...

    curious newbie

@ Beastlee That's great! I didn't know there's another RVR HSGR so close. I live real close to Arnhem (Arnheim in german). The previous owner told me he did about 8k's to 1 litre. But I didn't buy it for the fuel economy for sure. The most important reason why it's in storage is, because I get...
