Have a think about it. I have changed my abs unit and the two units in the car and my light is still on. I have cleaned all four sensors but without jacking the car up and running it I can't work out which one is faulty.

In all honesty removing it is a mistake in my opinion. I would look at your cooling issues and replace the items you have removed as you are just masking a bigger issue. If you are going to leave it out have you atleast covered all the ends correctly as I am guessing you have removed your dash...
