The entire cluster assembly you mean? Interesting that it only started doing it after the engine swap though. I'll see if I can find a cluster/tach assy :)
Note, if anyone has a mivec 1.6 10krpm Tacho let me know :D
So, since I finished my 4G63T swap, my tacho hasnt worked properly. It's fine when free revving or cruising. But as soon as you put the engine under load (eg boost..) the tacho drops to zero and stays there until you return to the previous state.
It also doesnt like to work below 1000rpm. I...
Well, mine started on first key turn today, which made me very happy :D
Need to set the base timing and sort out the BISS screw (won't idle at the moment). Then stick the skirts and bumper back on, tighten the belts, and she's pretty much done!
did you swap the engine loom over to evo 3 as well. The fuse box covers do not match up exactly. i think the 15A fuse was for foglights iirc. Whereas the lancer has two 10A fuses for the tail lights.
Problemo solved!
Turns out one of the plugs for the passenger door harness is the same as one of the plugs that joins the ABS harness to the dash harness. And theyre pretty much right next to each other, and share a bunch of similar colours. And are both wrapped in foam.
So yeah, don't plug...
Just need to work my way through the wiring and find out what the issue is really, no quick fix as far as I can see. The electric windows and the ABS System are two totally different circuits, so they definitely shouldn't be interfering with each other. I've probably crushed two wires somewhere...
Must have fucked something up.. Somehow.. Doing my head in. Basically have no idea what the issue is. Going to bed now, will fight with it some more tomorrow..
Wiring problem #54215
Front passenger door electrics don't work. Can't wind the window up or down from the passenger side or the drivers controls. Central locking is also not working on that door.
Trying to activate the front passenger window from the drivers controls spins up the ABS pump...
Yeah, the plug for the secondary air system solenoid is there, so it must be Evo 3 because only they had SAS right?
But the plug for the solenoid is just a two pin, like the FPR solenoid plug.
You're thinking of the small brown circular plug, for setting base timing. And I'm not sure what sensor you're thinking of for the FPR? I have the standard FPR, and the vac line just goes to the solenoid on the firewall.
I have my Evo AC Loom installed, but there's no plug for it anywhere.. How can yours be plugged in if there's no loom? Or did you leave it plugged in and cut the wires.
My interior is all back together for now sorry. I can see part of the headlight wiring behind the column cover, looks like three green wires. One with a yellow stripe and one with a brown stripe? Cant see the actual plug though.
Dad said he just spliced the two wires for the GSR tail lighting...
Oh, the evo only has one fuse for the taillights whereas the GSR has two circuits. My dad spliced the GSR boot loom into the evo body loom when I wasnt home, so im not entirely sure what he did to remedy the problem tbh :/ (I only had one tail light working with the GSR loom plugged into the evo...
Yeah been working on it the last few nights. Got the single wire above the gearbox sorted (was the starter, thanks for that brian). Had to cut the wiring out of the GSR loom.
Now I'm only left with the large plug with single green/black wire. And small blue plug with single yellow/black wire...
While we're at it.. Single black/yellow wire on top of the gearbox in the engine loom, guessing it's a ground, no idea where it's supposed to go though.. Anyone?
And also this single big plug with one wire in it, comes out of the loom next to the injector ballast.
