Okay, so i know its not an evo, but it is a lancer and there are no forums or sites for the base model lancers. If this isn't allowed, let me know as I'm still new to forums in general.
So here's my issue, I have an 03 lancer es, 2.0 4g94, 5 speed, no mods, 167,000 miles, and i have a random misfire, (I think), and I cant figure it out for the life of me. This whole issue started with a p0507 code.
From the beginning, p0507 code pops up out of no where. Cleaned my iac, nothing changed as far as symptoms go. Classic high idle but stable and would only bounce if I turned my steering wheel and back to normal when I stopped turning it. Cleared the codes after i cleaned the iac and it was good for a few days. Then, it acted up again. I read that someone had luck with unplugging the maf, iac, and tps. I tried that and it actually worked for a little bit. Then ou of no where it was back to idling like it was before i cleaned the iac but this time it was throwing a bunch of random codes. I'll try to upload a pic with this post. The print out from AutoZone said it's a common issue and the fix is having my ecm reprogrammed. So, I went home, reset the ecu and went through the idle relearn process. Cel came back on, went down had it checked because it started having an idle at misfire. Only came back with a clogged egr code. Went home and cleaned the egr, it was indeed very clogged, cleaned the maf with maf cleaner, cleaned my iac again, trittle body, throttle plate. Now it idles at 800-900 but has a p0300 pending code. Full tune up within the last 200 miles too. I'm not new to the car scene, this is just an issue I've never ran across. I've tried everything i can think of that ive learned in the past 7 years of being a mechanic.
Has anyone ever experienced something like This? I'm getting ready to order a pass thru cable, I've already got evoscan and ecuflash if i have to tune my ecu. I just want to make sure this is the case before i do. The cable is 97 bucks lol ouch.
