Have been accepted again in the Special interest class and am #211 out of 230 entrants.
Alwayts enjoy the atmosphere at what IMO is the best street sprint event of the year.

Hopefully my overheating problems that have happened at QR are now in the past as it turned out to be a failed new this year thermostat that was tested before installation and now will not open in boiling water :fuuuuu:

.It has been replaced with a tested 71 deg Ts and in a 90 k drive temps stayed in the 72-78 deg range  .

Any 4G'ers who go please stop and have a chat if you come to drive or spectate on the 14&15 th only 2 weeks away now.

PS It will be my 1st event on some proper semi slicks supplied and fitted by Rob Barac NITTO NT01 225/45/17  :)

Good luck man, be keen to hear your review of how the tyres go,
Oh and what brand thermostat was it that stuck? I have to order a new one in the next couple of days and have found a few complaints about the triton hi flow, what's in it now too?

Ahhh, I just bloody ordered a sard 63* one, dammit, I should of just tried one being there easy to replace... My only concern was the mrs driving it and getting stranded if it was no good, cheers anyway, I might have the wrong one anyway

All packed and car loaded on trailer ready to leave in an hour or so .Not looking to the predicted zero degree temps Sat morning.
It is the 20th anniversary event with a Jack Brabham tribute dinner Sat night and has been promoted on TV and radio so expecting a bumper crowd over the 2 days.

If any 4Gers are there don't be shy and say hello

Best of luck buddy and have a ball!!! I'm not gone from work until next week and then I will probably be driving past that way, bad timing....

Monster turnout of competitors and spectators.Had problems with the Westhold timing computer programming something about the results program interterpreting the timimg was still playing intermittently up on Sunday giving me times that were 16-20 seconds slower than my 58 sec run on Saturday  :fuuuuu: . Was hopeing to get down to 56 secs

Had a red hot go on the last run so hopefully will get a correct time, fingers xxx

I know I had no penalties and 2 people told me that I had done 118kph down a short straight up to the 90deg turn 2 and that not too many tin tops were faster.

Very pleased with my new NITTO NT01 tyres Thanks Rob

Woke up to -4 deg Sat morning with ice all over the cars  and was warm enough under 3 blankets and doona :) in the back of my Colorado backed in under a gazebo with side curtains.

Dunno why they had so many probs with the timing when QR ,MP and Oakey sprints are fine with the Westhold timers
.Maybe they were too proud to ask what the others were doing right and use their programme
