Picture this:

Flinders st traffic, 3pm. Rain, wind and bumper to bumper traffic. Sitting waiting for the light to turn green. Turn the music up a notch.

"Beep Beep" oh i've got a text message- I wonder who that is?? I'm on my phone for all of 10 second when all of a sudden- "knock knock knock" at my side window- some carnt wants me to wind the window down- he flops out a badge!

"I'm cuntstubble cockhead from melbourne police. We are undertaking operation 'sting the poor bastards'. Please turn left at the next street and pull over- there is a uniformed officer waiting for you"

I'm like- "you have got to be fucking kidding me". Being the conformist that I am these days, I pull around the corner where there's 2 other cars being done, 4 cops and 2 cop cars sitting there stinging people as part of a raid on people "using their mobile phones whilst driving". What a fucken croc of shit. :fuuuuu::fuuuuu:

I knew I was up shit creek without a paddle, and that any of my excuses were going to fall on deaf ears- but I did my best to make them feel as guilty as possible. I said "don't tell me you have NEVER sent an sms while you've been sitting at the lights? Don't lie to me now! Aye, aye!"

"Surely you have the resources and the expertise to get out there and get the people who are REALLY breaking the law whilst driving?? Surely?!"

"You should be ashamed of yourselves" I said in an angry mother kind of way.

What a load of shit. Pretty disappointed. $156 fine and 3 demerit points.

Comments and condolences, please!

They are unbelieveable, i just got done the other week for the turbo restrictions, i am going to lose 7points and got a $405 dollar fine, i didnt even bother explaining myself to the cooper, i have had plenty of runs ins with cops so i know how they work and they are just kunts.

Yeah texting when traffic is bumper and bumper and not moving is pretty harsh mate. I do it often to tell the Mrs I'm gonna be late home from work and to start dinner without me. There's times I'm in traffic bumper to bumper for 20 minutes and barely move 100m! The cops cant talk, I've seen them drive whilst using the mobile phone up to the ear!! :( (I have a loudpseaker functin and a mobile holder on the windscreen so I'm lucky in that respect)

Here's a little story for ya: on my way home from work today I was in an 80kmh zone (used to be 100kmh) and I was sitting on about 95kmh out of habit driving the same stretch of road for the past 10 years!... The rest of the traffic was doing the same speed as me. I looked in the rear vision mirror and noticed that the ute behind me had moved over and there's an ECILOP car right behind me!!! I look down at the speedo... FARK! I'm doing 95kmh in an 80 zone. I thought to myself 'I'm fukd' so I move over to the left lane sheepishly ^_^. The ECILOP 4WD passes me at about 110kmh. I watched in anticipation to see how long it would take the car in front of me to realise there's a cop car behind them? 1.. .2.... 3..... about 5 seconds before they put the brakes on and move over to the left lane lol :D.... the cop car kept driving about 30kmh over the speed limit and everyone moved over to let them pass.

I dont live far from the local station either so was wondering if they were on their way there... nope... they just kept driving up the highway

If there was a camera on each of us 24/7 we'd all be poor, licence-less and catching a frikken bus or train to work :w00t:

And there would be about a handful of highway patrol cops left on the beat too, fuckin assholes

I watched a paddy wagon drive along a one-way suburban street at oh say about 80ish km/hr. He was flogging it. (7am. didn't have lights or sirens on)

but at least he wasn't texting lol.

heard on radio that cops are allowed to speak on mobile phones, traffic minister said so himself.

Whats good for the goose, is good for the gander? :D

If it wasn't for DICKHEADS who cant drive and talk at the same time, we wouldn't have the stupid rules. I mean, fuck I can eat a footlong subway and drive at the same time- smoke a ciggie, adjust the EQ on my stereo and perve at the same time, but I cant write an sms in bumper to bumper traffic!??

What has this world come to!! ;)

Excuse my french by the way- ranting hard the more I think about it

none taking lol

farkin speaking of revenue raising....

last tuesday, on the way to work.... on Mickelham road going towards the Tullamarine.. left hand side just after the tiny bridge... not 1 speed camera noo... but 4! 2 4WD's a Corola and a Camery wagon like WTF, they were not even 30M of each other... all had full speed camera gear on the front bull bars, they stuck out like dogs balls, 4 cars perfectly aligned. should have pulled over and taking a photo and sent it to the news networks.....

My old boss woulf drive the car with his knees, phone in one hand and roll a smoke one handed in the other hand:blink:

How can they put 4 camera's 30m from eachother? surely you cant get 4 fines in under 200m if you get flashed.
Maybe it was some calibration thing.

I recently got fined for doing a burnout in my vr4, and they admitted to me they were a few cars behind me (i couldnt even see them) and couldnt see any wheels spinning or smoke. Had a rookie with him teching him to fill out paperwork so wouldnt back down when i explained the car was AWD ect.

Milkandoj: I got pulled over once for "Doing a burnout" in my GSR. they asked why i was doing burnouts, i asked which wheels i was spinning, they replied with rears (Used to all the commonhores). I laughed, told them that the car was AWD and they came FWD. So i can not see how its possible i was spinning the rear wheels. I went home without a fine that day :)

But contest it :)

I dont like the whole situation but hey... i dont have the money at the moment to fight it.
if you want pm me lol

Cops have been doing speed blitz's on the Nepean HWY over the past month, they have a dark blue van with a camera hanging out the back, I imagine there is a few cops inside analising the footage for all sorts of violations, (out of rego, no seatbelt, on phone as well as speeding) and there is 4-5 motor bike cops just down the road pulling over all the cars.
keep your eyes peeled for this sort of thing I reckon it will be happening a lot more from now.

sounds like a bit of a rat act. also sounds like Rudd is making his money back from all the bonuses he's been giving out hahaha :D

well when you consider that fines in NSW are paid to the State Debt Recovery Office I'd say that's spot on.

You'd be suprised as to what gets thrown out of court, "innocent till proven guilty"

I past a general duties, doin 65 in a 50 zone, by the time swung around i'd past a roundabout and the limit went to 80, i was well ahead, so planted it, took it 160+, hit the freeway and backed off. Thinking i got away, wrong 7 mins later he caught up with me on the freeway. Slapped me with 15km and under.

Upon legal advice, i'll get out of it, and there's alot of things you will.

No speed camera on the car, passing in the opposite direction and he wrote the wrong streets on the infringement notice. DENY DENY DENY, i was never there.

Also a Sydney Man got a speeding fine from a fixed camera. He took it court and claimed that, the only way that camera could have been accurate, was that it was calibrated that day. He got off!

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/RoadSafety/MobilePhonesAndDriving.htm

Was browsing vicroad when i came across this... I think the fine is outrageous!!! and i also think that if they are going to change and modify "the law" their should be mailouts with your rego renewal.

"Using a hand held mobile phone is also illegal when your vehicle is stationary but not parked e.g. when you’re stopped at traffic lights."
