And how much power will that be??

3-bolts are stronger than what you think, especially if you get custom axles made up

You'll need the RS front gearbox also, or to modify the standard gearbox.

Adelaide jap always have them
Can't you use the internals from the standard rear to change it to 3.545 ?

Darren from AFAS has one sitting up on a shelf in his workshop. I think he wanted like 1000 for it tho.

4 bolt rear ends are 3.9 ratio which lowers your top speed (at 7krpm in 5th) from 254 kmh to 213kmh due to gearing. It will "increase" your acceleration but frankly I think vr4's rev too fast as is.

You can get billet shafts made for the 3 bolt and they'll probably never snap, the only reason the 4 bolt lasts longer is the shafts are 2mm thicker (23mm vs 21mm diam).

im looking at about 400-500 Hp ath the treads with these mods im doing.

i think it is just the drive shafts that wont handle it. but i was told to get the whole cradle and shafts for that dort of power.. please correct me if i am wrong about this, or if there is another way to go. like custom drive shafts as was mentioned..

will the standard diff itself hold up to this sort of power?

you should be able to swap the crownwheel and pinion gear out of the standard diff into the 4-bolt and not have the change the gearbox ratios.

It's all about driving style.

I don't like to change gears. Another reason I bought a diesel :p

In my vr4 I think it was a 3 speed manual. 1st, 2nd and 3rd :p
