I'm doing a full rebuild of my E2 4g63 just making sure i have all the bases covered so it goes back together as smooth as possible.

So far the shopping list consists of JE pistons .20, Cometic HP gasket, Arp head studs/mains & rods, Scat Rods, "ACL race" main bearings

Block will be bored/honed & tunnelled by Jack Bros. Head is just getting a tidy up (should be good after the cam gear feasco.)

rebuild of the radiator new alloy jobby, oil pump rebuild and check, new H2O pump, allready has had balance shafts removed,

Just making sure i haven't forgotten anything, If anyone can think of anything i've missed please post!

O naturally the hold thing will be ballanced and blue printed and all bearing clearences will be tested.

I'm pulling the engine out Friday! so monday is when i pick up the bits

the GSR box is getting gutted and the EVO box insides are going in (evo case damaged) will keep the final diff ratio so rear diff will stay,

E2 brake upgrade

Hmm i think that might be it!

anyway please post!

I don't think it will be ready for the Jamboree but we will have the 430HP MR2 there! :)

Scat rods dont fit in an evo.. they are made for VR4's so they need to be machined to suit an evo. While the motor is out and stuff.. make sure you check everything! Head getting stripped etc.. check for tolerances so that they match up with factory specs.

If you want i can hook you up with the following parts:

- Cometic head gasket 3 layer high boost (specify bore) $130
- Arp head studs 11mm $165
- Arp main studs $117
- Scat rods suit VR4 $450
- Custom 2000lb 4puk clutch (same as in my car) $600

Can also supply:

- manley dual springs with titanium retainers
- clevite race bearings (most commonly used bearing for 63 racers in usa)
- bosch 044 $270

most of those are next day items.

these are my prices so far ... no negotiating yet

JE pistons $730
rings $140 (good ones not the std stuff)
Rods $460
H/Gasket $144
h/studs $144
main studs $97
vrs set $187
main bearings $132 (race)

then all the miss. stuff, machining balancing etc All the stuff you can't do!

Yes Tim I've been a little busy with the restaurant and all but i do pop in and look around, just haven't needed to post

I also have my Haltech E8 going in so the end result should be pretty exciting

It was going pretty good with the 20g in there, I think with 22psi and the above gear it should be fairly worthy on the track.

Just need to find a Cage to fit!

wow afew of those prices are good, just make sure they are for an Evo and not a VR4.. as the VR4 is alot cheaper then Evo gear.. ive made the mistake of listening to my supplier when it came to parts price.. he told me it was the cheaper 4g63 price and it ended up being the dearer one cos its an evo which is a 2g motor.

while ive got ya i just rememberd.. get yourself a 'gates' racing belt.. they never break from what im told and also.. get a new nuline harmonics balancer!

Well it is all about to start! the shed is clean and i've found alot of tools that i had lost! :)

Monday it gets ripped down and started

I will check on those rods!! I just replaced the harmonic balancer (chasing a problem) it is just a generic replacement Black looks slightly different to the original but seems to work (ie belts are still on)

I will have a set of GSR front brakes and rotors available for somebody if they would like DBA slotted rotor and endless CCX pads (pads are low not much left i think) Also have a GSR bonnet, fresh paint has bonnet clips!
pin style comes with pins! (wht)

also will have set of pistons and rods std! the water pump is near new but i will be replacing it anyway!

that is all
