4g63 in e30 bmw?

Hey guys,

Just looking into putting a 4g63 into an e30 bmw... just wondering if anyone had looked at doing similar, or could help out with any info!

Probably be looking at doing a 2.3L stroker with big cams, td06 20g, supra gearbox with rear lsd... should be good fun!

thanks for the link, i have already emailed bimmubishi to try and get info aswell. i just want info on general problems i will run into, major costs etc.

i'm aware i'll have to modify the intake to enter from the opposite end, and get a turbo off an evo 4+, and can get a bellhousing adapter for the supra box from the states, then will have to get a custom tailshaft made up.

apart from that it would just be custom power steering/radiator/heater hoses... what else am i missing... ohh and engine mounts, but they wouldn't be hard i wouldn't think.

You can get opposite end entry manifolds from AJAI I think. Or someone in NZ, I forget.

NZMMC had a thread about it, also there's a thread on austarion about it too.

Yeah - I guess it depends how you want to do it.. If you want the single cam block then you could use a Starion box. (IIRC) It'd be similar to a 4g63 in a Mitsi van/ute thing as far as the gearbox bolting up is concerned..

But if you want to use the whole VR4 engine.. then yep, custom bellhousing I believe.

Post up your info here if you can.. My mate is thinking about doing one of these

the diff will blow straight away,

if not the driveshafts then the diff.

it will need some serious attention with 4g power

Mate if you want a sleeper I have a very cluey engine builder in Brisbane who will build you a shortblock 2.3 srtoker under the BMW head . I know how he does it but my lips are sealed
Not expensive to send it up & back Can have the head race p&p and can have it all ready so you can just drop it straight back in
This is a heap less hassle

He is building one ATM 4 a dedicated track weapon it's turboed and when you pop the bonnet it looks like a stock 318I that is turboed very sneaky
