Ok basically I've finished the build on my evo 3 and unfortunately it's set up for drags and in the time while I built it our local strip shutdown. Now basically all we have left up here is motorkhanas and sprint events and not wanting to change the setup on the evo for these events I've come across a s13 chassis for a giveaway price and I still have my original evo 3 engine I also have a built r33 gearbox sitting there too. So keep in mind this car won't be registered and will be just a thrash car that me and the misses can both compete in motorkhanas in. Do you think it's worth the trouble????

Yeh the fabrication work is no probs at all and being a race car it won't need much of a interior so wiring would be on the basic side. I could also wire in a motec m4 and use the tune I had for that engine minus a bit of boost and most prob still make well over 200atw then just go for car setup

I cant see it being worth the trouble (or the cost)... especially when a SR20 is a almost equally as good of an engine, (or even the ease of putting in a RB2somthing) Worst case, sell the 4G63 and buy a good SR and off you go.

I'd do it, just for the sake of it... if the fab work is not an issue, i'd say go for it..

Only big issue i see is getting the R33 Box mated to the 4G63, other wise everything else is fairly straight forward..

for the gearbox I could get a clutch made up and then Fab a bellhousing to suit. As for going the sr20 route well basically I know the 4g63 a lot better then the sr have a decent engine sitting here that I know will take the punishment and have another 4g63 powered car sitting here if I'm ever needing any spare bits or sensors I could go an rb but played with them in the past and never had the luck I do with the 4g motors

The sr20 is shit compared to a 4g if you want more than std power.

Gear box isn't a huge problem if there is room for an adaptor plate to bolt on (if bolt holes are not on top of other bolt holes). I made mine up on a drill press and used an oxy to cut it out, I run a series 8 Rx7 gearbox with a mazda piston bellhousing.

Randy has a CC GSR for sale in Townsville... strip it out, drop in the 63..

Go the 4g63 mate. SR20 are shit engines and only get modified because they were 1 of the only turbo rwd 4 cylinder engines you could buy.

You always hear of them going boom with big boost. ( to Nissan motor big boost is over 15psi. ) an FJ20 is a different story but there like gold.

It's ashame mitsubishi stayed with the AWD over the RWD setup.

You might have noticed I don't like that overrated SR20 piece of shit.

Yeh thinking bout the sprints still but have to wait to see how she behaves when tuned was all right with the 20g setup but the hta86 will see I guess

if you are worried about CAS on the back, just use all the sensors from the EVO4+ for crank and cam angle...

I was midly involved in a honda k24 with a turbo into an s13, now that was fucking cool, turned some heads and made big power for what it was

couldnt you just run a triton gearbox?

Yeh I think I have a old mischief DVD somewhere that had a worked 4g in a triton will look into it but really wanted to use the r33 box cause its fitted with a os giken cross gear set and its just goin to keep sitting there cause of the low ball offers I've had for it
