4g63 lancer gsr for parts

Help Support 4GTuner:

Are you sure its an EVO?
What is the number stamped on the firewall? should start with CD9A or CE9A if it were a genuine EVO.
I dont see any bracing welded on the strut towers.... also the aerial is on the driver's A-pillar - Which is usually what only the RS EVO's came out with.... But that car is black so its not a RS model EVO.
So if its doesnt look like an EVO, what's stamped on the firewall? lol

It has a gsr vin, but the officer who defected apparently owns 2 of these one is an import and the other one not. Anyways he reckons that someone must of taken all the evo vin off and got gsr to replace them. And he wants me to go see department of transports so they can check

That's a tell-tail its a gsr. Also check:
V-brace behind rear seat?
Longer chassis rail?

Plenty of other ways to confirm what it is, the above are the obvious.

I'd say the officer don't know shit !!

Just because it has genuine EVO 3 seats and maybe a genuine bonnet and amber blinkers don't mean it's been banged up !! LOL..

If it is Rego'd as a GSR with a cd5a GSR number on the firewall what's the issue ??

It has No EVO bracing, doesn't have EVO guards, has an aerial on the A pillar(GSR). Has a fibreglass copy bumper, more then likely the rest of the body kit is a fibreglass copy too... Doesn't look to have climate control A/C and I bet no electric folding mirrors or rear window wiper. All tell-tail signs its not an EVO but is a GSR !!

So I'm Still not seeing what gives a reason for it to be a bang up.

Looks to me to just be a GSR with a vr4 motor, EVO seats And a body kit !!

If you don't mind me asking !! What was it defected for. ??

metal showing on the steering wheel, rust on roof where the duct tape is on the picture, not heater and "queensland transport inspection regarding vin# to check the vehicle has been cut & shunted.

maybe having too many evo bits on a gsr is a bad thing aha, the officer was nice tho very small fine

it's a cc gsr with a full evo 3 conversion. some where on the car should be a BLUE mod plate for the engine. it's a gsr and with the help of other on here provided it's engineered i'd fight the defect notice. the cop doesn't know squat!

they'd have you for the wheel and maybe the rust and they'd have you for an an unengineered conversion but you'd be safe with the inspection of the numbers as it's a legit car.

pm me i want to see this car inperson and i'll be able to tell 100% on the spot if it's evo or not and if it's not engineered i'll point you in a direction to have it done. i'm hearing report of engineers certing for as little as 150$

another dead giveaway it's not an evo is the cyclone intake thats a vr4 motor

but i'll jump on the parts gang picks of the varex and DIBS!

i'll come to you i'd hate to see a good car wrecked over an officers incompetence. i'm sure many of use will help you gather evidence to prove it's a gsr over an evo to put in a leter to the officer in charge which with enough images etc showing the differences could see the fines dropped. of course none of this will help if the car isn't engineered or atleast got the engine numbers changed

The police officer does not have any qualifications to make such a judgement which is normally supposed to be made by an inspector at an authorised vehicle inspection station. Its an Australian delivered GSR on DOTARS database and it is complied in Australia. Get it sorted at your local vehicle rego inspection station and breathe easy. QLD cops are a law unto themselves with that Campbell Newman c*"'! at the helm.

Yeah don't wreck it out ay. It's too nice a car to do that to it.... With a little work it will be mint again....

I've had photos of this car for Yonks... Didn't realize it was this car till I opened the link you put up....

I've wanted a set of them white Starcorp diablo wheels for a long time.... (that's why I saved the pix of this car) They haven't sold them for years.. it's been a long time mission of mind to find a set, I've managed to find three 18" rims so far, one to go... LoL...

Good luck with it all ay...

Actually is that car black or GSR dark grey?
Cause if its dark grey its an Aus GSR.
If its black then its a Japspec GSR.
