Hello all, Found this great site last month and decided to register as im currently converting my 1992 CB6A 1.6 v6 fwd lancer to a 1992 1.8 fwd gsr, brought the motor off a good friend of mine for $250 NZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

main reason for conversion; v6 engine has done over 300,000 kms and is pretty much done, New engine has done just over 120,000 kms and included loom, manifold, turbo, all belts, cluth and more:lol:
I also had to buy top engine mount from 4g93, intercooler with piping and ecu

Alot has gone well doing this long project but alot has also gone wrong: 1st my v6 gearbox did not fit because of the starter motor position so i brouhgt a 1993 1.8 libero fwd gearbox but this doesn't fit because the pressure plate is sticking out 12mm to far off the block causing the clutch to be fully engaged and it is touching the inside of the bell house causing the engine to be locked.:fuuuuu: other problems ive had:
Standard internal wasegate was already removed and manifold was set up for exernal wastegate but the 'custom' welded pipe for wastegate off the standard manifold was crap and rusted so i brought an aftermarket manifold and 38mm external wastegate; one problem solved:thumbsup:

The next problem i had/have is the gsr(4G93T) engine loom does not plug into the front chassis loom, so i brought a 4G93 fuse box and im currently trying to join it together with the front chassis loom :fuuuuu:
So if anyone can help me figure out what to do with my gearbox and/or wiring it would be very appreciated

Mate it'll be easy as just to change the engine loom, ECU and electrical loom (engine bay fuse box side etc) to GSR items. You should have plenty in NZ to get from wrecks yeah? Put the GSR looms in your car and the engine install would be a cinch. You dont have to make it harder for yourself by trying to splice and work out wiring when parts are so readily available and cheap for you causing less head fucks :)
