Looking for a Quality Harmonic Balancer for my 4G93T

Previous searches only came up with one from RPW (Alloy), Meeks and Genuine... I've tried them all.

Seems Ross dont do one for the 4G93T

Does the 63 fit on the 93?

I want some insurance balancer wise for upwards of 8000rpm.... HELP!............

63 dosn't fit

ZERONE Lightened Crank Pulley - Proton Satria GTi (SVDO)
from kakimotor.com.my saw these in person they looked alright

Took it as a given the 63 wouldn't fit, thanks for confirming.

I have tried an all aluminium one... Where is the harmonic absorption from them? There is no rubber to damper the vibrations..???

Surely running an all aluminium one would shorten the life of the motor because of the lack of harmonic absorption.?

Who else has a high hp 4g93t? What balancer you running?

Is the genuine one up to the task? Or Meeks, it's bonded also..

if i was going solid alloy, i would get a underdrive one, but i havent seen many of them
same as evocpe but $110. $1=3myr.
i love lelong

I wouldnt use a solid alloy one if you plan on keeping the car they dont do any dampening. Ive spun 4g93's to 8k on standard balancers with out any problems.

use a proton 1.6 ballancer, the malays recon they go to 9k...
wait... 93's dont rev that hard...hmmmm... abit of rb syndrome...lol

std ballancers are solid to arn't they?

They are 2 piece with a rubber ring in between them.

top of tacho in a 93 is 9k with the right cams tune and setup they "could" rev that high.

4G93's dont make power/torque high up in the rpm so its pointless. If you compare the rod ratio to any other performance car it is terrible, the side loading on the pistons at 8k must be quiet large.

Ross will be able to make a custom one for you if you need, not cheap though

When I enquired earlier this year I got this response from them;

"At this stage we don't have an off the shelf item for the 4g93.

If you are looking at performance we can custom build one for you.

Once commenced it should only take about 1 - 2 weeks to complete depending on how much work is involved.

You are looking at $700inc gst + freight (depending on where its being delivered to), We would also require a sample"

Re-hashing this, I am currently looking into this too as I have my GSR Harmonic Balancer (HB) flopping around a bit too much on the crank. The bottom end is proton 4G93 and the proton HB is a lot more heavier then the GSR item. A heavy handed person or persons unknown have previously chipped the back part where the ALT belt runs. Obviously all the talk of lighter HB's has got me thinking about going lighter, although I can get myself another proton HB this arvo off a newish engine but im just not sure that I want to go heavier on a nice forged botom end.

Ive seen all of the linked ebay ads etc above but what about this one?

Ideas.....
Stock, heavy, light?

Priced them up today.

$435+ freight from Mitsu
$402+ freight from Proton
$180+ freight for an aftermrket one off Meek.
Has anyone got the Meek one and does it still have the rubber composite material like the genuine one?

yeah soz man that one was fubared big fat chunks taken outa it. picked up another couple recently because i had one spin on the crank and chew out the keyway. they're exactly the same as the 4g93 sohc ballancers. $45 from a wrecker
