Good day guys,

I'm a proud owner of a Lancer CK1A (1999) with a carby 4G13. I'm in the process of researching the project of swapping to 4G93T, but I would like to keep it fwd. I need to know the possible options available for the transmission/gearbox.

Thanks.

If I were you, i'd sell the car and get something that is at least EFI, unless you really want to do things the hard way.

Welcome to the club by the way.....

I would go out on a limb and say dramatically under engineered for the power and torque that the 4g93t is ca[able of producing. In other words...I would think it won't last long.

Thanks Jonson for your reply, I agree with you've mentioned but as I already own it I though it would be okay.

What I think of the 4G13 gearbox:

Wont handle the power difference efficiently (as already mentioned by you).
Crazy acceleration (short gear ratios).
High fuel consumption (running high rpm's due to the short gear ratios)
Lower top speed (short gear ratios)

I can source one of these gearbox's:

4G92 (1600 dohc non Mivec) gearbox.
4G91 (1500 dohc) gearbox.
4G69 (2400 sohc) gearbox.

So what do you think of the above ?, is there any other options that might be better ?.

Thanks.
