Yesterday I was coasting on the highway and all the sudden after pulling at 3500rpm in 5th gear it fellt like I hit a wall. Like boost cut or something.

The car lost all it's power I put it in neutral to let the car roll out to a petrol station just a few meters away. While in neutral the engine stalled.

I could start it again but it runs shakey and bad. It's running super rich, my AFR tells me it's rich. It idles somewhat okay but as soon as you rev it a bit and let go of the throttle the engine starts doing 100rpm and dies a few seconds later.

There was no sign a a big vacuum leak, no oil dump. Oil level is fine, oil plug looks clean, no weird color smoke from the tailpipe. Water seems normal not overly hot or anything.

It doesn't throw a CEL or anything like that. I've had something similair a few weeks ago and it went away as it came. But now it's worse I believe.

To me it sounds like a ignition related thing. I will check the regular things like spark plugs, leads etc.

Maybe this sounds familiar to someone? I know it can be 100's of things but maybe I can rule out a few things?

sounds like a boost leak to me, mine was the j pipe Gasket but then I've had the same thing only it was from a cold start, that was the coils or ignitor i changed both so cant really be more specific but as mentioned do a comp. Test to verify ya havn't dropped a piston or something more

Thanks for the replies

I recently did some compression testing so I think that's still okay. I will check to make sure though. I will also check my IC piping etc. Will probably know more in a few days :)

In daylight I could tell in a few seconds it blew an IC hose. :loser:

So that was fixed in no-time, since I was at it I decided to make my own turbo leak tester. Turns out my inlet hose leaking A LOT:

Got it from merlin motorsports but it has cracks and tears all over. Removed the tube and went on from there to find out my inlet gasket is leaking real bad as well.

Made a start at removing the inlet manifold and try to seal it properly again. But it's been bugging me before, maybe need it machined or a new inlet manifold.

I'm convinced the car will run even better once these leaks are dealt with.

It will grab some hylomar and a single later cardboard box if you don't want to buy a new gasket. Get a rotary tool and give it a quick blast don't focus in one area just go all over to take off any burrs

was that black pipe running from ya turbo to afm? It looks like the pipe i use to duct air to my brakes! Good to see ya sorted it, if ya taking the manifold off, and if ya havn't already, throw a magna/Evo t.b on!

Yeah the black pipe ran from my AFM to my turbo indeed. Ordered a flexible sillicon replacement that should work better. I already run a evo TB ;)

I have no problem ordering a new inlet gasket ;) I currently use a special thermal insulator gasket from RPW. But you have to use sealant on it and the has come loose causing it to leak I think.
