As the title suggests,
so anyone who is certain chime in, just needing to know now things are getting back on track and I can finally slap the rest of my mongrel GSR build together,
so before I go buy from ebay I thought ill try put some money back in the forum

List so far to compare is
waterpump,
pulleys,
timing belt,
Hyd tensioner,
flywheel obviously is, what about the pressure plate

im sure theres more but havin a mind blank
at the moment

sump is different
flywheel is different but cutch is the same
rods, crank and pistons are different
timing covers are different
engine mounts are different

I thought water pump was different and even the tensioner?

Haha thats about all I know is different,

Does the pressure plate have a different mounting pattern to the flywheel or is the height different from the flywheels thickness?

yeah the list in the first post is all stuff ive seen for sale on here but for 6 bolt, wanna buy but dont wanna have them used for shelf decorations

Yes Clutch kit is the same. I have a 7 bolt block with 6 bolt pressure plate and it works fine.
Water pump and tensioner are different. Cheers
Ross

Adding to George's list...
Yes water pump and timing belt tensioners are different.
Also the oil pump and oil filter housing.
Alternator and power steering belts are different too.
Thermostat housing is different.
Cylinder head and intake manifold obviously.
Crank (cam) angle sensor (choose one which suits your wiring loom as they are interchangeable)
Throttle body
Aircon compressors
fark... gotta be a few more....

Timing belt is the same, but the hydraulic tensioner isnt.
The power steer belt is definitely different.
You have to check numbers on the alternator but it may be the same.
VR4 tb's have a bolt on elbow and a throttle closed position switch. Evo tb's dont.
Also have a slightly differing idle control setup although I believe the same plug can go into either one.

power steering bely on the 6 bolts Ive had are vbelt and the 7bolts a re multirib

the plug leads are different due to different coil mounting pos

inlet manifold gasket is different

Sweet, an cheers for all the info,
now I can get back to this guy an sort out what I can take off his hands.

starter motor is different too.
if you are talking 6 bolt then it will be from VR4 or the like.
Roll stop mounts are on the engine block 7 bolt /evo roll stops are on gearbox
starter for 7 bolt /evo the nose is offset to the bolt up lobes.
6 bolt / vr4 the nose is evenly spaced to the lobes
which means it will bolt up but ring gear engagement is not correct resulting in nasty noises and the teeth being damaged on the ring gear.
So mind what gearbox you are bolting up to the engine block, and check the starter motor.

:)

Just another one ive come across and am unsure if,
the harmonic balancer? Now ive seen some listed as vr4/ evo 1-3 an others with the vr4 different an then evo 1-9 as the same unit,
what gives, are they all the same
