Information:
1988 jap Spec Model...Fully complied 76K,first owner in Aus.Motor is in excellent condition and health.No blowby or issues.

ENGINE list.
-Ported and polished Evo 2 16G turbo and manifold...and match ported Dump pipe
-Evo 0 Intercooler and piping with 60mm Throttle body inlet pipe and enlargened throttle body inlet.
-550cc Evo 3 Injectors.
-Stainless tube manifold.*Not fitted
-Sard Fuel reg and gauge.*Not fitted (new)
-Genuine Walbro 255 pump.*Not fitted (new)
-K&N pod filter.
-Thermo tape wrapped cooler piping and radiator hoses.
-3 In. exhaust with hi flow cat and stainless packed TTr race oval muffler.
-Gates race blue timing belt and tensioner pulleys.
-Excedy/Daiken clutch and presure plate & genuine slave cylinder.
-Apexi SAFC2
-Alternator redone
-New battery
-Coolant flush and thermostat replaced
-Water pump just done..5 k ago

OTHER
-Genuine momo race wheel and boss kit.
-new Slotted rear discs and pads
-17x8/17x9 Gewalt forged 1 piece wheels.
-6 point roll cage and Fire Extinguisher.Can be CAMS certified.
-Custom set King Springs (new)

Every thing is listed above and the photos speak for themselves.Just paid 6 months rego.

Car is modified to the spec of an Evo 0.. and my original intentions for this was tohave a good street car with potential to go on the track..the wheels and rollcage give the car a good base for use as track or hillclimb.As listed above i have a short ratio stronger gearbox and transfer case,which were intended for track use,The Evo 3 Twin piston Brakes also are intended for track use.Coilovers would be the only thing needed for a full setup.At the moment the car has a combination of custom made King springs to give a low ride height and good travel.
Running overly rich at the moment for safety reasons..A good tune would see around 160-180Kw at all 4 which would give high twelves..All it needs is an AFR tune..boost at the moment is a moderate 12 pound and as a gauge the car is worth a low to mid 13 quarter mile at the.The stock B.O.V is retained and plumbed back for emmisions and driveability.
All driveline fluids change devery 6 months.Engine oil and filter every 5000K.

Just replaced the gearstick bushes today and the return spring.
All the brake/clutch/power steering/4Ws fluids done also.
front tyres 80%.
rear tyres new.
Im not going to have time to get the most out of this car or have any fun with it...Hence the sale


ONLY issue needing attendance is the carier shaft (prop shaft) Bearing has been recommended to be replaced small noise/vibration at times..not major work,($200-$250) estimate.

I will obtain a roadworthy when i have a definate buyer.
open to inspections,with a stack of extras and vr4 number plates..

Hey big fella,

from experience i'll tell you that selling it to downsize to something cheaper will bite you in the arse. You're better off to stick with what you already know is reliable and have a fair ability to fix yourself. Especially if you're going to be on a student budget.

But its your car to sell, best of luck with it.

I already made that mistake once.

I made that mistake twice - and its definately NOT going to happen again.
They were easily the most depressing years of my life.

But back on topic, got any pics of the cage?
 
ENTARAN and rob323...i know,you have good points...this car..(hang on let me go outside and touch some wood) has been and is outstanding mechanically..from a cold morning to a hot day..turns first fire every time and sounds new...and the only real repair ive done is the alternator.

But when i meant downsize to something cheaper..i didnt mean something crappy..im loking at something like an 02 Sri Barina hatch..girls car i know :p ...anyway...

No offense mate but a vr4 really doesn't use a huge amount of fuel in the scheme of things.

Selling up will be the biggest mistake you've made in the last 4-5 years because an 02 barina will a) cost 10k anyway and b) as it's a daewoo in disguise, fall apart within the next 3 years. Look at hyundai fit and finish or any daihatsu or daewoo :)

Keep the vr4 mate. It's the best quality car you'll own till you're on the other side of uni and earning proper cash.

Yeah its about 10k..but i wont have temptation to mod it (money saver)
And it goes slower and will definantly use less fuel (another money saver)

Its gotta have to be more economical..and i wont be able to bolt things to it (turbos) or into..(rollcage)..so the the temptations will be gone. 8)
 
I will admit, I don't like Barinas, never have, they have always been a rebadged reject from someone else, and spec'd down to Holden's standards.
If I was in your shoes (and thank god I'm not) I would look at an Echo or something similar japanese made. I know a guy that is building an echo rally car and he raves about it :roll:

10K and you drive away in a lil weapon..goin in trommorow for carrier shaft bearing replacement,front end inspection and 4 wheel alignment and hub centric spacer rings..good toy... :wink:
 
Maybe this forum isn't the best place to sell it on. Have you advertised it on Boostcruisin?

And if you are going to sell the car and destroy your reputation by getting a girls car, it may as well be a getz. Just make sure you get a Queens St Smash Repairs pink paint job and some scissor lift lambo style doors so you can be "unique".
 
have you got any pics of the interior? is the cage just a jap cage?

i hate it when people try and convince you out of doing what you want to do.. that said i'm thinking about getting a vr4 again :lol:

What do u mean by "jap cage"?

The cage was made here as far as i know..its 6 point...has a barcode on it etc...all bolts together..no welds in the legs..all bent....
