Problems with my ignition leads!!

I am chasing another set of 9.0mm ignition leads for my 4G93T, custom if need be..

Where can I get a set from, WA? EAST Coast... O.Seas?

Top Gun, Magnacore, and Bosch types fail too soon... yes I've tried them all, some more than once also..

Have swapped out ignition coils so they are not the issue... The leads just dont last long enough...

Mind you the 9.0mm lasted 2+ years, whereas the others dont even see 12months.

My last set of 9.0mm leads were purchased from Queensland Ignition Leads, but they have changed names/ hands and my last enquiry to reply was 2 to 3 weeks, I dont really want to wait that long.

Help wanted.

custom make them, buy the 10mm wire and fit your ends to them. even make them with solid cores.
we made custom sets in apprentice school, just need the cable crimpers, then you set forever

have you tried the 8.5 spiral wound? they last longer than the carbon, but not as noisy as the solids

i cant find a source for the bare cable, must be available somewhere

I just used half an old v8 kit I had laying around. Was only 7.5mm I think and never had a problem. What plugs are you running?

I got that set of him at your reccomendation and I didnt have any problems with him.
I havnt used the leads yet though :p

3zercrowd, yes they are very good leads you wont be disappointed.. (at time of last enquiry I was fed up with driving around with f**ked leads and needed a set "TODAY-ish" so thats why I declined)
I still recommend them to everyone!!

I've already made another enquiry with him as finding an alternative set is anyones guess at this stage.. so I just wait to see if an order can be placed and received before christmas.
I may even buy two sets and keep one for spares.

Im not interested in making my own... unless I cant get a set delivered before xmas, im sure its pretty straight forward..
Where can you get the solid cores from? and is it fine to just cut them down in length to suit.

Yeah think they are 8mm, after buying 3 sets of top gun why would you go back..

Ive had this car for about 8years now...? once you fix an annoying problem (ignition breakdown) you tend to stick with the same quality parts..
However, very interested in knowing what others have used..

As for plugs.. Ive had most success with copper ones at one setting cooler and gapped down to 0.6mm or 0.9mm from memory (remember 25psi +)

However, Mr Dyno (not his real name) changed my copper ones to an irridium modelled one... have to go look if you want to know exact numbers..

I dont know if evo 1-3 fit.

you should think hard about getting solid core wires as they normally for carby v8s as they are noisy and can mess with your ecu.
spiral wound are better for suppression and are hardier than carbon core, with less resistance as well.

advancedcable.com.au has 1km and 2km drums of spiral core cable. (group buy anyone?)
