a back fire at hi revs

up at about 5 to 6 it feels like a back fire any ideas?

You'd hear a backfire.

But sounds like he's hitting a boost/fuel cut.

Otherwise it might be a flat spot, or he might have removed his catalytic convertor in which case it will always backfire when you let off
