I've been thinking of setting up my 92CC GSR 4G63 AWD Auto as a drag car only. But I would need a partner or partners due to $$$
It would need a car trailer & a shed to sleep in when it's not racing. I don't have the spare shed.
Edited this mod out. It was here long enough for members to see. If you missed it, PM me.
The motor is forged & has a knife edged 14kg crank. Head work & ceramic coating in the head & on the pistons.
So I'm looking for a serious partner or partners if I'm going to unregister the car & turn it into a full on drag car.
I would like it to be group Owned by "Team GSR" rather than a sponsored drag car.
It can be driven by team owners, but if you stack it, your $$$ straighten the shell. Driveline hickups is a team expence.
Naturaly I'd like to be the team leader, but I'm all ears to options in mods of the car.
Post here & PM if you'd like to group own a Sydney based GSR drag car. It can be trailored to other States to race when it's consistent.
Cheers !

Would f%@king love to Aldo but cant!! Best of luck bud!!!
You have your hands full building yours Jesse! If you were in Sydney, you would be a choice partner for sure!
The pic I sent you of the dual RVR rear diff is still on the cards for my RVR.
Cheers !

I would help you out if I didn't have the satria.

You can buy a trailer for 2.5k 2nd hand.

What times you aiming for?

Sell a car, and buy a falcon to tow.

Yeah Joey, I have too many cars with rego. The VR4 & Studebaker need to go one day.
The RVR will handle the towing if needed. I don't have the space for a trailer & the GSR needs a shed with a bit of work area.
I think the GSR can start it's racing with a GT35 turbo like your old one & I think it will see low 10s or high 9s with the
releasable rear diff during 2nd gear. If I do this alone & keep it registered, they will kick me off & that's the end of racing.
I know by runing AWD & FWD with the same tune, that the power difference is huge.
I'm pretty confident the transition from AWD to FWD during the run with slicks (ftw) will see better times than AWD all the way.
There would be no time lost pulling a handbrake lever for a slave cylinder to release the diff while the right foot is wot from go to wo.
It can have traction to launch & then do away with an easy 15% of the load. I did mention/offer that you do this in the Satria.
If I had the money & time I'd build a RWD DC Electric with FWD AC Electric drag car. DC to launch & switch to AC that loves to rev.
There is plenty of options that drag racers haven't tried. I'd like to see the GSR race, but not AWD all the way & not FWD only.
I've been thinking of doing it alone, but I think it would be more fun as a team enjoying it & my only child-daughter is a chef & hates dirt..
Cheers !

You sure the rvr can handle the tow? I dont think the body will last.

What you mean you wont have enough room in the garage? Your garage is by far bigger than mine. You will manage. A trailer you can park on the driveway.

All I hear is complaints aldo lol. Be positive!

Joey one word = Mother....We joint own this house, but shit would hit the fan if a trailor was in the driveway & the GSR inside. Not worth the drama matey.
Cheers !

I wish I could be in on this. Have similar situation with lack of space, with 4 cars... and no funding, because still at uni :p

Can I lend a hand putting it together? :p Would be interesting, and could learn alot.

If it happens, an extra hand is apreciated if needed. The nitty gritty of the car's setup will be a bit confidential, but you will see the hardware etc.
If the group ownership doesn't happen, it will keep it's rego & won't be the lightweight drag car that it could be.
Cheers !

only if you lived in Vic..... id be in on this.... id have enough space for 1more car (if i dont get shot first)

Thanks Jay, Yeah it would be a bitch getting shot for adding one more car. We all hord too many cars hey. HB too..
Cheers !

I'd be keen on thus. Once again....melbs. Would setting up state cars to represent individual states be an option do you guys think. Jstyles is getting rid of some shells. Would be a good start :)

interesting concept, using awd/fwd on the fly.

would be an interesting drive under full power when the rear end is disengaged
good luck with it

I'm going to keep the rego going & the group owned drag gsr offer is over.
I thought it was a good idea & offer, but the interest in drags has died in Sydney.
Cheers !
