yeah when i got defected cops wouldn't even let me drive my car!.. i had to tow it to my friends place and drive it home later that night..
 
well guys i'm never had a defect before... i got till the 10/1/07 to fix the tyres THATS IT... then the yellow sticker gets taken off... but then he said i get a EPA letter in the notice about all the other stuff... ecu, bov ect... so yeah i'm using my g/f's stock gsr rims n put them on mine... they never said anything about hight or anything... THANK GOD
 
dude the defect is the least of your worries..

ever been to an EPA emissions test before? is it macleod?

yeah i heard... its like the worse u could have hoped for... the car is going back to stock... but i'm hopping i dont have to change the turbo, or i'm stuffed... i got all the other parts ready...


well what i dont get is... the epa i'm getting... so i only have to change the parts they got me on? or everything basicly? like they said dont worry about steering wheel,,, but will the epa say no to it?
what about the turbo, rekon they will fuck me up on that?

just need a stock ecu
 
You might not have to go to the EPA, you might just have to get a exhaust noise test which means you don't have to change anything other then make sure its under 90Db... thats if your lucky though...

Glad i never have to worry about defects or EPA again :)

the green sticker is the one where u usually have to take it to macleod.

you can either spend money on gettin an engineers or returning it to stock.

think cops are trying to get a head start on their quotas for the new year...

usually the only epa letters ive only ever gotten is for the noise test.

and if u dont comply with that then they send a letter of suspension of registration as i got for my golf. however i have complied with it ages ago and the car has been sold so they can go eat a dVck.
 
if its noise, i can get it passed for you.

if its epa emissions, they dont need to give you a green sticker straight up - they can send it in the mail.

gees you guys have to learn to follow the rules if you intend to modify your car perpare to pay for it when you get done, otherwise stop your bitching and leave the car stock simple as that !

as for height ride when you take your car to get rwc there not going to give it to you anyways as the car sits to low...etc etc ..
 
well i dont understand how ppl have way more mods then what i have dont get epa... n no its not a epa for my exhaust he said to me "epa emissions" so stock i will have to make it... i'll do as much as i think i will have to do, then show them the car...

i also heard if u get a epa emissions twice u cop a BIG fine?
 
I got done for BOV and wheels, and require a roady to get it cleared, Hopefully i can get a roadie without having to have an engineers seeing as its a 1.8.

They can give you a major defect for just 1 thing if the cop see's it as being somthing enough for a major, He said due to EPA and so forth thats why its a major, but he wasnt going to send me to the EPA thankgod!

The Green EPA sticker is only if you fail the first time then you get the green sticker and you are allowed to drive it to get it fixed and take it back to the EPA to get it passed. The Police cant give you an EPA they have to report you to the EPA then you get a notice to go there and get tested.

You guys will be right, just play swapsies for a day and get it cleared. As for EPA, I got through macleod no problems with the front mount, pod, BOV, full 3" exhuast, bigger fuel pump and injectors..................

i went to get a road worthy report today and the list comes back as:

noise from intake and bov
front parkers not working
oil leak from oil cap and timing case
center stop light not working
LH steering rack ball joint has excessive play
engine cross member broken $150
front cross member cracking $55
catalytic convertoer fail (substrate Loose)
L/H/F tyre has nail in sidewall
Intercooler loose and hose rubbing on R/H/F tyre
Rim/Tyre Combination Illegal
Loud cracking noise on takeoff
Missing grommit in floor
Exhaust leak at Cat

What a crock ... The only thing I have ever failed for on rego is tyres being bald... And even then I got passed and told to drive down the road to his friends workshop and put on a set of re-treads as the minimum ... :lol:
