Im sick of seein my speedo only go to 180 and the numbers are so far spaced apart that at a glance i think im going 30k's over the limit when its really only 4k's.....

surely its not as simple as just swapping clusters. my thinking would be that the j-spec speedo cable would be spinning at a diff speed to the Aus spec cluster needs as the numbers are A LOT closer together. but then i think the cable only goes as fast as the driver in the box spins it....
so do i need just the cluster, cluster and cable or a freaking gearbox too.

its not that important to me to change/modify the gearbox....

I've always wanted to do that swap as well but have never got off my butt to find an A spec speedo to find out what needs to be changed.

Besides, I've always figured that if I'm going faster than 180, then I probably should be watching the road anyway rather than looking at the speedo :D

if your goin to swap speedos, jack the speedo and the sending unit (the gear on the other end of the speedo cable which is attached to the gear box with 1 bolt from memory) and swap every thing, should work fine.... and its not always the speed of the cable that changes, they can change the gearing in the gauge it self......... or the counter weight of the needle......

well actually im just sick off seeing 1.6 efi lasers with faster speedo's than mine (200km/hr)
ok, well ill buy a aus speedo and see if it works. if it doesnt then ill buy a cable. if that doesnt work ill swap the cable drive gear....and if that doesnt work ill find something else to entertain me :D

never noticed, but u mean to tell me your dash dont look like this? well the Kph any ways.....

you would think the imports came with the higher Kph on the gauge not the A-spec......... but you can try find a GSR being distroyed.......
