ADVICE BEFOR I BUY A EVO 6 **FOUND 1**

Hi guys im on the look out for a evo 6. just want to know what i should look out for befor i buy one and what are the common problems they have? Also let me know if any one has got anything up for sale?

take a laptop with evo scan and a obd2 cable and check for any errors showing up on it. Mate look at two different evo 9s and one was perfect but the other was showing the AYC was doing crazy shit

anyways... i would b looking for rust
also check the bolsters on the drivers side for signs of wear and tear to confirm KM's.

should check the passenger seat too - since they can be easily swapped with the drivers side.

wouldnt that make the adjustment handle on the outside if u swapped it with a passengers seat??

positive, ive done it with my evo 6 when i had it.

(rails remain, but seats swap sides as they are identical)

Evo Scan does puts up dicky AYC codes sometimes, can't be taken as Gospel.

Thanks guys.. just bought a grade 4 white evo 6 in japan this evening.. Yes i did confirmd on a tomy mac.. got a very good deal too.. but when i trackd it back with the vin number the car had done 160,000Kms so i gave it a miss and got the 6 today

How did u do this?
I was under the impression it was easy to wind a car back, is it pretty common?

yeah i thought it was, how do they do it on a digital dash, do they swap the instrument cluster from another car or can it just be done electronically?
And how did the OP look it up via the VIN number the real km's?
