After coilovers and brakes suit evo1-3

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Luke...5 stud conversion and Brembos is the go...no need to go all out and change the rears to Brembos IMO.....If you look in the Tech section I have done a write up with pics and parts needed

Done man.....its easy enough to round up the parts needed...check out the thread I mentioned above and you will get a fair idea of whats needed.

Shit! I think my sarcasm meter just blew up..

So if going brand new, my recomendation would be Cusco or Tein.

I had Cusco's on one of my other cars and they were hands down the best. Second to that was Tein HA's.. I have used G4's and BC's as a comparison.

East Coast suspension had a homemade brand a while ago, which got good reviews. I think drive in, drive out it was just a touch under 2k. So not sure how much they were just for parts, as they are Sydney based.

Brakes, yes there is the Brembo option and 5 stud, as well as the GTO 4 pot conversion and 5 stud like mine. I found it easier to get the GTO's then the Brembo's .. Cost comparison on that would not be too much difference, as you need adapter plate, to make it work.

Brembo conversion on the front using evo 4 knuckles and hubs...they bolt straight up then...no need for adaptors.
I had GTO before...they had nothing on the Brembos.... the Brembos pull the car up so hard.

Meh, what do ya need brakes for anyway.. Heheheh..

I eventually want to spend some time on the track with mine, to see how they go. On the street, the Evo III stock brakes were good enough for me, with the slotted discs. These larger slotted discs and GTO's should keep me out of trouble.... I hope..

Am using EBC red pads at the moment, and these seem pretty good.. But yet again, I am only comparing street driving..

Not many people make coil overs for the early evo's anymore I just went down this route and ended up with bc' cause my teins decided to leak. As for brakes I can't recommend the wilwood kits from freaky parts.com. Cheap as for what they are.

I have gto 4 pots on mine with project mu

I have GTO 4 pots on mine with project Mu club racer pads an alcon rotors way more brakes than the 215's (tyres) can handle especially on the track when they get a bit of heat in them.
IMO spend some $$ on good pads an rotors, brembos with shit pads won't pull you up just cos they are big. I got my calipers off trade me an including freight were less than half what Brembos were worth.
