Does any one have any recommendations for race intake manifolds to suit 6bolt heads ?

I'm looking at the Magnus manifold with a 90mm throttle body or maybe the hypertune manifold both with a 90mm throttle body.

Looking for more options before I commit.

And what mods to the oil pump can be done ?

racefab in nz?(racefab.co.nz) he does evo ones but should be able to make a 6 bolt style one no worries

Thats the one he did for me, runs a 80mm throttle body, nice ramtubes inside etc...

My oil pump has had all passages radiused to improve flow, what are your concerns with the pump?
I always get a new one though.

Thanks guys Racefab is the one I missed and I will get into contact him to see what he says... The Magnum race 6bolt manifold they assure me will make the power I want and more but also know that the kiwi big hitters use the Racefab manifold.

Oil pump needs to help the motor survive high RPM.

Interesting manifold with an amazing guarantee

Cant go wrong with a hypertune mani proven results and the plenum is a work of art in itself, craftsmanship is 100% awesome

They do look nicely built and eye candy, but there was a fault with them.
Make sure you got one with a thick bead of tig welding around it.
See issue they had: http://www.mmc.org.nz/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=67924&hilit=hypertune

The boys at Hypertune will stand firmly behind their products for service so I definitely wouldn't be worried about anything there

"Just got a reply back from Peter at hyper tune.
This is a known R&D fault and he will happily replace it free of charge

Can't complain about that.
Thanks hyper tune"

Thanks hyper tune

"Sure ya can. Why sell a product with a known fault? Shouldn't fail in the first place!!"

"Fault was found after I bought it. He did mention that if I had bought it direct he would have advised me. I bought it thru Bel Garage, so recall notice not passed on.
No biggie"

The truth will always set you free, and some forum hypers can cause & do more negitive to a business

if you believe all the words behind some.

I just read this so in case some here dont have an account on mmc Ive copied and pasted the content to stop speculation that could turn negitive

I dealt with Paul himself... And customer service to me was top notch. It is one of the best flowing manifolds on the market and out flows most of them if not ALL when tested by unbiased workshops.

I cant read that forum and have no wish to do so but knowing that they are a welded outer plenum item i understand it may crack. (Big boost/vibration) And if it does i will send it back to Paul so he can fix or replace it.

I have inspected mine and it will do its job.

^^^ Mick, do you have any flow rate data for the Hypertune intake manifolds for the early VR4/EVO I-III 4G63 engines?
I remember Baz did some flow tests a while ago comparing various Mitsu oem vs JMF vs Magnus intakes but we never got any info for a Hypertune manifold and it would be good to see some numbers.

The 'truth' would be to copy all the info from that forum page including the pic. The one that car had apparently blew at 21psi though - not really at high boost (see pic).
As with any sheetmetal intake, the welds play a massive part in how they hold together under boost. Even the early Magnus Motorsports intakes had been known to blow/split the welds when going over 30psi. Magnus took it onboard and that led to a slight design change with extra bracing and welds added.
Customer feedback promotes R&D and tweaking designs to make a better product.
Its good to know that the boys at Hypertune provide a 100% guarantee if something did go wrong with one of their products - that was clearly mentioned in that forum thread. and offers peace of mind to customers.

Rob the welds on his manifolds now are noticeably larger/heat range looks good too than the ones in the pic you uploaded...

I want to get a Magnus CAST bigport manifold but dealing with Marcus is hard and still waiting. I would like to compare the two for my own results.

The manifold would need to be flowed by the same guy that Baz used for consistent results. I cant really be bothered getting it flowed i am not in it to prove peoples products just letting people know my views on customer service and will see my own results when it gets used.

Dougmo they are very well balanced mate and will be fine tuned when the head gets ported. Only thing i would have done if i knew before is get a bigger plenum chamber but oh well im only doing it for abit of fun.
