Hey guys after an after market vr4 intake manifold. If anyone can help with one that's in good condition that would be awesome!!!! :))

Or give me some info on where to get one!! I love the magnus cast v3... But I can't warrant the 1400 odd to get it to my door.

Thanks heaps :))

Cheap manifold are cheap for a reason, poor welding, soft metal, may affect the flow and make less power than your stock manifold, could also explode like a few magnus manifolds lol

What manifold you running atm Timmy??

May need to install a 'danger to manifold light'

Still running the Cyclone..

And i need a new one!! About to invest into a "SECOND" Power adder... LOL. I know you can guess what that is..

And I need the flow and strength..

I got something you may want to use. You will need to cut a deal with JayRome to ally weld it back together but would suit your purpose well. Will post pics when I get home.

If you get JayRome to work his magic on it, and also get him to swap out the SR20 tb plate to EVO, it would be a good 1G mani.

I'm running 30psi through my 1G Magnus intake manifold and haven't needed to put a "danger to manifold" sticker on it. :p
I know Joey's welds started to pull with over 30psi and NOS on his Magnus. But you've got to remember that NOS is a whole different ballgame.
The Magnus is also 1/2 to 1/3 the capacity/size of some of the larger intake manifolds and yet it still flows a lot for its size. Is it really a case of 'bigger is better?'
Those tests show different results to other tests carried out by BAZ a few years back. Baz also tested the JMF intakes and noted nothing about turbulence in them.
Word to the wise, I wouldn't care too much about these 'tests' as they're going to differ wherever or whoever does the test and with whatever equipment they use.
The aftermarket industry's fallacy of 'bigger is better' is not always the case. Improving performance in one respect, usually has a counteracting effect to another.
If you can get a cast manifold it will be the strongest and will handle 40+psi.
GVR4 Cyclone intakes are restrictive. Swap it out for an OEM Australian delivered ECI Multi intake manifold and I reckon with some porting it'll do just fine.
EVO owners need not even bother changing intakes unless theyre making some pretty high power. We've seen several guys put 30-40psi through them and they still make the power (edit: unless of course they have done a big port job and need bigger intake runners lol).

 - but extremepsi said so!

Noob question - how does NOS harm an intake manifold?

Also, re: porting an ECIMulti manifold. Will it really affect the total flow capability all that much just by smoothing the runners a few inches before it reaches the head?

I'm asking these questions because I was looking into getting a new manifold as well. I always thought the ECUMulti was fine but then I read that US test data (didn't know Baz did one).
I agree that test results (especially for turbulence) can vary due to operator/environment/equipment but given the same conditions it should at least provide a semi accurate comparison of the manifolds tested for total flow yeah?

Maybe I'll just clean up the stock manifold a bit.
Also I was told by a knowledgeable person that the stock manifold becomes a restriction when approaching ~ 350kW on a 4G63.

Ok Next QUESTION!

Does anyone have proof that the Magnus and the JMFab Intake mani's Clear the Brake booster???
Fit no problem on our cars over here?

This one is far better priced and guaranteed against almost everything

Good luck getting one of those these days!

I run a JMF race manifold at 36psi through a pte 6262 turbo with no problems at all.
Cast magnus is a nice piece but pretty expensivrob, how was the nitrous causing intake manifold ballooning? Backfire?
I can't see what other issues could be caused by using it as all it does is add approx 7% oxygen to the cylinder.
