Alloy Racing Radiators

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

True, but the thicker rad + slim line fan still equals about the same size as stock rad + stock fan.
But slim line aftermarket fan for better flow FTW.

so which links of the above do you members think would be worth it

The stock one if there is nothing wrong with it and the factory fan is very hard to imulate with aftermarket fans

If it isnt broken why fix it ect. Ive benn down that road andf sold off the aftermarket alloy Rad and just went back to the stock set up its perfect.

The ASI gives more clearance for larger turbo setups. Mind you, if space is a premium, get one of the plastic tanked alloy core stock replacements.

In order of preference for Alloy, I'd go like this.

Koyo -> ASI - >PWR

Koyo being the best.

Pricewise, Koyo can be bought cheaper than the PWR anyway.

was thinking of going pwr but now that you have all said that the asi seem to be ok i think ill look into getting one of them

The ASI rad's have improved alot since they first came out typical due to more R&D they have fixed alot of the alignment issue's with lugs ect since their first batches.

so how's everyone's asi/ebay radiators holding up? Was looking at getting one, doesn't look like anyone sells the thin core any more though.

Mine is fine, its a Golpher one, see Post #66 in this thread. I have raced the car once and my temp did not move all day. I mainly bought it because it had a thread for the standard GSR temp sensor. I do not drive the car during the week, so I can't really comment on how robust they are but mine has been fine so far.

As for fans, the SPAL I have keeps the temp normal, but it really doesn't compare to the wind speed the big standard one delivers. If you can still fit that, keep it B)

I am using a ASI Radiator on the track with the original radiator cap (possibly a bad idea). I have no temp issues at all and I am running a thermo fan that I picked up from repco.

By track I mean I only drive the car on the track and do probably 6-7 laps at full noise which is about 9 minutes.

Mines still running fine. Apart from the hiccups at the start as noted in this thread, all is sweet.
I drive mine daily.
