Alternator heat???

I have fitted some heat wrap around the dump pipe

will this be enough to stop the heat melting the alt?

or should I still make a heat sheild?

i've seen alot of examples of alternators dying with the dump being close to them...

make a heatsheidl mate, something to deflect the heat will do..

It seems to be the luck of the draw with alternators. Mine died 24 hours after purchasing the car and giving it a flog. since then its survived 2 years with no shielding whatsoever.

However with the new turbo and engine ill be making shielding quick smart!

Definitely get a stainless heat shield made up as it will deflect an enormous amount of heat away from the alternator 8)
