Alternator Relocation Kit

I've seen a few of you guys running those Jay-Racing(?) alternator relocation kits.

Anybody have any recommendations on the best place to buy? I remember there was somebody using one who was having trouble with their kit cracking all the time?

Yes Shayne, the aluminium brackets snap, fortunately a HD alloy steel version is available at an added cost.

I purchased through Extreme PSI.

From memory it set me back $150 plus postage (1g HD kit)

It was an additional $25 for the HD Alloy steel bracket.

Very true Jay, but I'm suffering from that dreaded disease "thefuckits" at the moment. When I look at what it would cost to buy an already made and proven bit of gear as opposed to my time spent getting one made.... I say "fuckit"...!

Apparently they changed the design slightly over the version that Dan was having issues with.

The design is the same, they started making the bracket out of steel instead of aluminium.
My alloy one broke as well and they replaced it with the steel version. Works fine now.

If you want to ripoff Jay's design that bad then buy one from him and copy that....

lol i wasnt planning on selling it... i was just too lazy to design one for my car

Ive got aircon but just out of interest, does it still reuse the same alternator belt or is another size required?

As I posted already..this kit eliminates the ac compressor - so you can't use it??

Yeah Jamo, I was just wondering whether the same size alternator belt is used when relocating the alternator? (sorry because I wrote 'aircon belt' previously)
