We've tried getting some answers on galantvr4.org.au to no avail. This is the conclusions we've come up with so far over there and questions YOU need answered if you plan on purchasing this car:
Evo 3 gearboxes contain an engine mount, vr4 boxes don't. You can't mount an e3 box to a vr4 without some extremely serious modifications or in short: It doesn't fit.
E3 gearboxes are 3.9 ratio, usually equipped with a front LSD. VR4 boxes (ASPEC) are 3.545 ratio, open front, the front driveshafts are significantly longer and have a different spline count from memory. What he's done with the driveshafts is anyones guess. E3 gearboxes neccisitate the use of the e3 transfer which means the vr4 tailshaft will have to be replaced as the length then becomes incorrect. He will also have had to have replaced the rear differential with a 3.9 item (or at least the crown wheel and pinion).
If he's changed the pistons god knows how many times, the block is 0.040 or more overbored and the wall thickness is begging for destruction. Run 20+ psi at your own risk. The "GSR" pistons... god knows. GSR (CC Lancer GSR we're assuming) are 1.8 litre not 2.0 litre blocks and the pistons are a completely different size. We still can't figure this one out.
E3 injectors are yellow topped, not blue topped. Grab photoshop and enhance the photo, I saw blue not yellow... or more specifically "More blue than yellow". Until we see a flash photo of the injectors we can't tell.
How did you mount the GT28 to the E3 manifold given that the e3 manifold is a cast item designed for an MHI flange not a garrett flange? Did you use an adapter plate? If so, did you replace your exhaust and all your intercooler pipework to match the new lengths as the turbo would be mounted an inch or so further down? What did you do about the lower radiator support directly under the turbo?
The intake manifold looks eeriely like an Aus-spec VR4 item rather than an E3 item. This however can't be determined again without a good photo of the area with a FLASH or copious amounts of daylight.
Is the link EMS a plug and play item? If not, why is most of the stock loom still there?
Why did you use the original VR4 rocker cover? Can we get a photo of the intake ports where the intake manifold joins the head (below the fuel rail)? Why did you use a GSR clutch (suited for a different sized flywheel/PPlate) on an "evo 3" item? Which colour Koni's are they and what springs are they matched to? Koni's arent' height adjustable, they're damp/rebound adjustable. I don't see how adjustment would affect the height of the vehicle.
