Another low km VR4 has surfaced in Adelaide. This one is a Burgundy ASpec, and has been purchased recently from a elderly gent . The old owner was a ex Mitsubishi executive who bought it new. This car is original and untouched in all respects, down to the original exhaust. The new owner wants to "enhance" the VR4, while retaining a stock engine bay appearance.
The gearbox has the usual dodgy synchros ( perhaps the old owner used to enjoy blowing off fully sic VP Commodores ??). So I've rebuilt a double synchro Evo 3 gearset into a VR4 case. Also getting a new clutch, TD05-16G turbo, Evo 3 dump elbow, Evo 3 exhaust manifold, 910cc injectors, ECM Tuning chip dual map E85 tune, waterpump, cam belts, seals etc. Next will be front and rear Kaaz diffs, and a 4 bolt rear axle setup. Should be a nice fun streeter, while appearing stock !
