my water jets turn on when i switch the lights on. not to sure if its the switch or the wiring! help please.
anyone elses water jets turn on when turning on the front lights? (help asap)

Just disconnect the plug from the pump, unless it starts to snow and freeze your lights over down there you won't ever need them.

yeah my windshield washer jets. they turn on when i turn on the front head lights. i think previous owner re-wired the car. but i never stumbled across this problem until now. it didnt use to turn on automatically. its like the wires magically connected to the lights and turn on whenever the lights turn on.Benzo4gT said:

It's a safety feature, it's to make sure you have a clear windshield at night :lol:
Take off the steering column shroud and clean all the connections and check for any suspect wiring. I think there are separate connectors for wipers and lights, take the wiper plug out and see if it still does it.

If the above doesn't work,
take the fuse out of the washer an see if it still works, might give you an idea of wether the washer wiring has been dodged
If it still runs take the fuse out of one side of ya headlights at a time (l/h and r/h are on seperate fuses) an that'd give you an idea of if the previous owner had bridged power off the headlights, and which one
ya might even be able to tell just by looking at the pump wether the loom attached looks like a standard fitment, if not then it might be fairly easy to trace it to where it's powering from
Let us know how ya go, if ya don't have any luck fixing it then make sure ya have a multimeter for the next bit and me or one of the others will run ya through what to do next,
