anyone know what this sensor is for on 4g93t?

but does anyone know what this sensor/plug is for that i have circled in yellow? i have noticed it on most series 1 gsr's have it, and series 2 gsr's dont (its just blocked off completely)...

coolant temp sensor

coolant temp sensor that u see on in ur cluster or to turn on the secondary fan for air con? because on the series 1 gsr's they already have a sensor/thermo switch to turn on/off the radiator fan

the cooland temp fan switch is located on bottom of radiator, the temp gauge is located further down
