So is that the Hisham guy that Missile says Brian? He made a whole 5 posts on here back in 2009. (I doubt he is the guy I was thinking about regarding our discussion about the black one Brian.)

It certainly was a tidy car. Very little tampering. It seem he might work with one of my son's so next time i'm up there dropping him off, I'll take so more photo's to drool over.

George
Hisham also used to own your current car back when it was a street going GSR with the Evo 3 body kit on it. This was back in the early 2000's when I had a silver GSR which the prior owner had put a Genuine Evo 3 body kit on through Mal Crokenberg. The body kit on mine was worth more than the car!!
I keep in contact with Hisham. He's owned a few rally reg early evos over the years. Didn't know his white one was a kitted out Evo 1. Thought it was a 3.
Jason

Hey Jason, thanks for the info, thats interesting stuff.

I guess that Hisham sold it (my current car) to Roy Wallace? I understand from the paper trail he (Roy) did the rally prep to it, and got it it's CAMS logbook in 2006 then through to Ben and then on to me. I like knowing a cars history, gives it some personality.

I got limited knowledge on the real EVO's, but I took the time to take a picture of his because it didn't look 'kitted', it looked Mickey mouse straight, all the lines lined up. Credit to him if it is a kit, smik 3 if not.

Your not the Jason I borrowed some tools off at a RAC sprint round before TSW last year are you? Can't remember if it was a V or VI you where driving.

Yep that's correct George. Hisham sold it to Roy who prepped the car but didn't do too much with it from memory. I have pics somewhere of the car, somewhere, when Hisham owned it.

The kit on his white 3 is definitely the real deal and it is a nice car.

Different Jason but we briefly met when I was visiting Todd last year when having a look at his grpA Ralliart Evo. I built an evo3RS a number of years ago and did targa west between 2008 and 2010 before damaging the car in Toodjay in the 2010 event. Hoping to get back into sprints and eventually targa as I just got hold of another evo5rs to replace the 5rs I built to replace the 3rs but unfortunately had to sell when work dried up. Also have the ex-McDonald's, Gavin Morgan PRC evo 3 gravel car that I have just rebuilt but now scared of getting scratched :) Shall try and do some WARC rounds this year but should be out and about with the 5rs once I have replaced some bits and transferred the rego from NSW - it's actually fully road registered.

All the pieces fall into place!! I remember now. Todd seems to be this hub of 'all people' hey, it's nice to finally meet all these guys that are around the edges of the sport. We need some more early EVO's at the events, I'm it atm and am regularly getting my arse handed back to me. I also suggest we go and get all the good stuff off Todd's car shortly, I think he has a sniff of a buyer.....

The only thing in the logbook from Roy was scrutineering for Targa West (06/07??) but it didn't actually compete. Good news is it's still relatively straight, slight mishap with a bonnet but mostly still straight.

Sniff of a buyer... I thought he'd be hanging on to it for a while to see the project through.... everything has a price tho. Wonder if he would take a kidney as nice bit of kit.

I'll be out there George .. Sooner rather than later I hope.

In regards to bent evo bonnets ... I have two that shall take pride of place on my garage wall whenever I get that built. :)

Yeah, I think an offer too good to refuse will have him let it go. Shame not to see him do the Audi job on it if he does let it go.

Look forward to seeing you at some events Jason. Any chance Hisham is going to play again?

He has mentioned he may get out there again. He used to kick all our butts back in the day..... But the scene is a hell of a lot more competitive now.
