anyone seen this happen before?

here is a picture of the O-ring between the exhaust mani and turbo inlet.. looks like its beencrushed and i'm lucky it didnt get sucked into the turbo that would have sucked. anyway anyone have an idea why this happened in the first place?

14 b or 16 g?

My only thought is that the wrong fire ring was
used so in order to make it fit, the cut it and put it in.

Ie, 16 g ring too big so cut, shrink, install.

Take a look and check it for signs of breaking or cutting. Very strange. Anyway, just use a ss gasket and leave that fire ring out.

its a 16g but the manifold is ported so that could be it? where would i pick up a SS gasket?

It happened to my fire ring too, I straightened it out & put a weld on it to keep it together
