here is a picture of the O-ring between the exhaust mani and turbo inlet.. looks like its beencrushed and i'm lucky it didnt get sucked into the turbo :eek: that would have sucked. anyway anyone have an idea why this happened in the first place?

14 b or 16 g?

My only thought is that the wrong fire ring was
used so in order to make it fit, the cut it and put it in.

Ie, 16 g ring too big so cut, shrink, install.

Take a look and check it for signs of breaking or cutting. Very strange. Anyway, just use a ss gasket and leave that fire ring out.

its a 16g but the manifold is ported so that could be it? where would i pick up a SS gasket?
 
It happened to my fire ring too, I straightened it out & put a weld on it to keep it together
