If anyone isn't doing anything Saturday 2nd October, feel free to come for a drive down to a little town just across the NSW border called Urbenville. Nearly every year, they hold the Border Ranges Rally there. The event uses public dirt roads and is renowned for being super fast (ie. 150 kph +) and smooth and this year I am finally competing in it. Bought some new tyres for the event too cause I think the high speeds at this event are probably going to overheat and destroy my current ones due to their open design.

Here's a taste of what the roads are like - Youtube - Border Ranges Rally

It's an awesome event, great atmosphere, starts at lunch and runs into the night. Servicing and camping is at the Urbenville Show grounds yet after the event is spent mainly around the bar in the bowls club beside the show grounds where lots of tall stories and lies are told until early Sunday morning. Food and drinks are available to be purchased there as well. There's usually a couple of great spots to go and spectate as well.

To get there, you basically hit Beaudesert and then head south over some really brilliant tight and twisty roads. They are awesome fun and alone make the trip worthwhile. ;) Just watch the fixed speed camera just after you cross the border.

Oh, and if anyone feels like helping me out by servicing for me, then that would be fine too! :p
