Are gsr and vr4 galant rocker covers the same?

As per topic. Have just been to help yourself wreckers and pillaged a mint rocker cover off a galant gsr. Hoping it will fit my vr4 engine once I paint it up. Can anyone confirm if they are identical?I really don't want to take the cover off the motor to check internally. Also I may go back and pillage the maf sensor if they are the same?
 
4G63, 4G61, 4G67,
VR4, GGSR, EVO1-3, Hyundai 2lt... (i think i missed one)

Should all have interchangeable covers..


Maf wise, you are going to have to be more specific... N/A maf, Turbo maf etc..
 
The only AFM.that are interchangeable are the 055 items which are usually found on Magnas.
As above the rocker covers are the same.

Yeah I saw heaps of those floating around too and was contemplating going back to grab an 055. Obviously I will need to rewire but I wasn't sure if my ecu would be compatible with the 055?
 
You will need to chip your ECU it to suit... these days it seems it's easier just chucking in an EVO 5+ ECU in instead. I saw one (EVO 6) go for $32 on ebay recently

How much screwing around with the ecu harness and sensors etc is involved to do this??
 
Few pins swapped and it plugs straight in. You will need an OBD2 port, harness and plug to ECU which you can find on other OBD2 Mitsi's.

Are Evo5 ECU's re-flashable?

Adrian, I have a bunch of different EPROM tunes from QLD T4G members back in the days when ECMlink wasn't around. A few of them incorporate modification for 055 MAF upgrade but I'm not sure what else is done to your car? IIRC didn't you have a Haltech?
Although if the Evo5 ECU is re-flashable I'd go for that. I didn't know the swap was so simple.
 
Pretty basic mods here. Rebuilt bottom end with forged bits. Standard crank still has standard fuel system walbro pump, 16g with ported and polished manifold.intercooler with custom plumbing. 3 inch exhaust with group A dump pipe and an electronic boost controller. Have a couple of 055,s sitting at home I acquired. Thinking of changing to a later model turbo bigger injectors etc and tweaking to boost to about 20psi

I have a tune for 16G+510cc's+055MAF from Clutz's old car. That thing pulled 216kW @ 20psi on the dyno.

That's prob about what I'm looking for. Is it just a flash tune you have? For what ecu??
