balance shaft eliminator

anyone looking for a to get rid of their balance shafts the parts and prices are listed below, note: these are for the 2.0L 1G 4G63 engine found in vr4s and eclipses

whats the benefit/downsides of removing the balance shafts?

positives
= less rotating mass which free's up HP
= faster revving motor (almost motorbike like =) )
= removes the chance of getting a broken balance shaft belt tangled with the timing belt
= higher oil pressure

negatives
= requires labour to remove (lazy)
= engine vibrations may become more noticable

to counteract the negatives, get someone else to do it and get the engine balanced then we all be happy

Balancing the motor will not remove the vibrations produced by not having the balance-shafts. When the rotating assembly is balanced it doesn't have anything to do with the balance shafts. Of course, it's not a bad idea either. 8)

those are Mitsubishi part numbers....so a Mitsubishi dealers ship would be the best start
