Those of you that have done this... Have you ground the negative on the battery to chassis in the boot or ran another cable back to the original place the negative went to?
im sure theres no worry just earthing through the chassis. Just remember the same amount of current thats going through ur +ve cable is going through the chassis.
My only concern would be volt drop losses during cranking. But if ur car starts no worries then dont worry bout it
What size breakers are people using in thier relocation? I've heard of people using anywhere from 80A through to 140A... Would just like to hear what you guys are using.
Dave there's a company in WA that I can't think of their name but
they manufacture DC to DC convertors & AC to DC also. You's from WA
can buy direct. Anyway you suply the unit 9v to 16v & you can adjust an
output screw to give a constant 10v to 14v. This unit can overcome drops
in battery voltage during cranking. eg: You can send the std fuel pump
power wire to this & have 13v coming out to feed the pump. You can feed
your sterio a constant 13v from this during cranking etc etc.
I have a power hungry hard drive mp3 player & I use a convertor for it.
Just another thought for you fellas with boot battery relocations.
