I just got a phone call from my engine builder to tell me that the brains trust over at BC failed to supply the cams with a spec sheet. So if anyone has one could they please send me a copy! I have searched the net but cant seem to find too much info other than the usual stuff. Thanks

He is after the card that normally comes with the cams so he can set them up for run in then once it is run in i will have the thing tuned and adjusted.

You will have to get a dial in wheel and manually work out the spec's yourself if maker hasn't given the spec's card of that cam. That's the hard way I know:thumbsdown: but its well worth doing by tuner to actually know the spec's I know Meek Auto do this when installing cams to check the spec sheet supplied is correct.(not always the case)

If your setting up the cams straight off the spec sheet without a dial wheel your blind guessing that the spec's are accurate and some cams spec sheets have been a little out which is what does tuners heads in

crossam....if you were here i would give you a kiss! haha

I'm pretty sure thats what he is after, just to get the engine ready to run so i can tune it after it has been run in. The engine builder doesn't really want the engine on the dyno until its run in.

look on the bright side...... while your up, you can grab another beer!!!

Did your cams come with any other paper work at all? I am gonna give BC a reaming tomorrow when i call them about this. i'll be after a new set of cams for it with new paper work haha

What? You expected proper cam set up specs with them?
Buy some Kelfords and see what you get
Agreed even Camtech cam's come with a hand written spec's card on inlet and exhaust cam lift & duration degree's

Whom ever is building your engine should definitely have a manual dial wheel gauge and be checking lift & duration themselves any way which add's to the professionalism of setting up your engine's new cams :w00t:

I thought a proper cam card would have been the norm for any manufacturer. Anyhow I rang BC america this morning and got nothin new so the engine builder is using the dial gauge now.

You can use a dial gauge and a degree wheel but unless you know the proper cam specs, you are still guessing on where to put the cam, aren't you not?
