Hey just found this ^^

Is that a good price? It looks like it! :)
Is 10/8k a soft/hard spring? I have no idea..
I definately don't want extra hard ones that rattle the crap out of your car. It'd be for a street car if I got them.
I have no idea when it comes to suspension. I thought soft/hard was dependant on type of shock absorber, and spring determine height of vehicle...
Basically I wanna know if they're good value and if they're good for a street car.

Cheers. :)

Wholesale Suspension in Sydney won't sell or fit them anymore because of the rattling pillow ball after 1 year of use.
BC will send you new top hats if you email them & complain about the rattle. That gives you another year of use.
Soft springs mightn't cause the wear at the pillow ball. I don't know the hard or soft spring ratings to advise on.
Low profile tyres & hard springs would be the worst combo for the BCs. This is advice I was given & I don't own BCs.
Just thought I'd throw this out there instead of keeping what I was told to myself.
Cheers !

Unless you're running oversized wheels like me (18's with 235/40) go for 4/2 springs. Get them custom ordered. If you have a regular sized wheel such as 215/35/18 or 215/40/17 or something you won't have an issue with the fronts scrubbing on the inner guard liner under compression.

I have 8/6 and they're tough as nails. I would downgrade to 4/2 (you can custom order the lower springrate) but as mentioned, issue with larger wheels clearing the guards under compression.

ALSO, don't know anything about the pillowballs. Mine are fine and are a year old. Maybe I'm just lucky in that respect however.

Thanks for your advice fellas. It's much appreciated. :)
I had teins in the front of my GGSR (unfortunately I don't know the actual spring rate) and they were way too hard.
Thanks for sharing the info Aldo.
Lawrie, I was gonna go for a simple combo, king springs and KYB AGX (adj. damping) but looking at my car yesterday, I want to control the height each end.

So what's the best coilovers set we can get for our cars then? I thought BC made some pretty good ones..
People seem to agree with baz on the hotbits.

EDIT: Back to the original question though, that's a pretty good price isn't it?

Mo, FYI, when I got my Hotbits, they came with 8kg/cm (fronts) and 4 kg/cm (rears) springs. I found that the shocks couldn't control the front springs to my liking (too much bouncing) so I got a set of 6kg/cm front springs for it and they worked much better and are still on the car today (5 years later).

Something else to bare in mind is that a 200mm long 10kg/cm spring may only have 50-70mm of compression available until the spring binds. The softer and longer the spring, the more compression (and therefore suspension travel) you have to play with. I found the G4's that we fitted to BennyGee's car severely lacking in the "travel" department (and they rode like crap).

But I reckon go and buy the BC's, cause only then will you appreciate better quality suspension when you upgrade to something else. ;)

(You'll have to go for a ride in my old car some day, the Notlec strut tops have now been welded (cause the urethane crumbled) and it now sports Dougmo's Compomotive rims and Dunlop semislicks and as you can imagine, can corner quite well now.

My Hotbits back in the day were $1800 plus strut tops plus camber bolts plus extra springs plus dust boots.

Geez I guess that's not too bad price wise either hey. They should be cheaper now? haha
Cheers Rob. :)
