The home of unemployed bogans - Hervey bay,
I bought a HSGR last week.........not really a fan of the body kit look, but it's growing on me. It's as rough as hell, full of human slime and missing most of the interior, pod filter just dangling in mid air and

gasket leaks about the place, stuffed front shocks, tie rods ends and steering rack boot. All of which I have spares so no biggie. It has a crush bend exhaust system with a cannon, there is enough drone

to make the US army jealous. Torn apart stereo remains and an "autotechnica" boost gauge with the wiring and hose run on the outside of the dash, so it has to be wrapped over the key to avoid getting

tangled in my feet. It has a "look at my car idling with no one around! I'm easy to steal" timer, which will have to go.

Plan was to rego and sell it, but thinking about keeping it, fixing it, and slowly swapping the parts from the SG over to it.

OK, so the good parts. Oil filter relocation with front mounted cooler and 324mm front brakes with 4 pot calipers. Hot compression test is 178, 180, 180, 182, the head has been off and looks brand new,

oil smells good and healthy. It's a manual running stock boost, freezing cold A/C, alarm and OK looking wheels.

I'll post up the progress pics if I end up keeping it.

EDIT: front rotors are 324mm

Ones that run or the yard ornaments?

A daily each, the pile of R and the new HSG. Not that many, plus 3 out of 4 run so I don't qualify to be a full blood bogan.
Haha, that used to me! 5 RVR's at one stage :/

Sounds like it will be a monster, you will grow very attached to the kit mate, I know I did, give it time. I've got a VL Turbo now and I never liked them with any kits, but the one that's on mine I've grown to love and cherish like a first born, All the best with the work on it !

Cheers!!!!

Nice! The kit will grow on ya, originally I wanted the awesome ladder but it would of looked odd with no wing, lol
Do you know what the brakes are off?

Good pick up though, strong engine, big stoppers, manual... (bastard :D)
Human slime is the sole reason I stripped mine out and scrubbed everything. Gotta kinda increase the chance of being able to christen it, lol

So a quick update and a few pics of what has been done/repaired, and a bit of what's about to happen.

324mm brakes were warped as hell and made braking really scary, so OEM HSG ones were put on. I'll machine the big ones later and re-fit.

Interior went from this ↓

To this↓

Also to note, previous owner had cut down the OEM springs and painted them red........

Replacements from the parts car were used.

A general clean up of filth.

And this arrived from ECMlink ↓ If I lived in the states it would cost $45, but because I live here it cost $135 to buy and get delivered
