Hi guys !
Now I know there have been a few posts about head gaskets etc but I'm looking for information on the entire job I've blown my head and I am in the process of pulling it all down ... What I'm looking for is any help with dimensions and how to measure them such a the size head gasket I need as I do know the engine was worked internally before I got it but I don't know to what extent .... Any pointers, tips or just things to look out for would be muchly apriciated ...

Thank you in advance
Danny

Most guys on here go for the Cometic Multi Layer Steel (MLS) head gaskets. I went for a HKS MLS gasket but that was just because I had tried a Cometic and wasn't entirely happy with it.

My advice is to take the cylinder head to your machine shop with the blown gasket and explain to them what has happened. They should be able to give you some direction on what size and type of gasket you would need.

I have ran cometic for a few years on a mild worked engine and had no problems, i just purchased a hks mls for the new build as it gonna run abit more power

never used anything other than HKS
there is a reason they are dearer, the internal construction is different
and you will find they seem to be less prone to problems.

RA factor can be critical on some gaskets so that they are reliable
